What an incredible start to the 2024-2025 school year! We are off and running with a lot of changes this year, and we wanted to make sure that you were kept aware of everything that we have going on at LBHS.

In our 9th and 10th grade English classes, we are continuing our supplemental curriculum for your student to help prepare them not only for F.A.S.T. testing, but for their junior/senior years and beyond. The Pre-AP curriculum from the College Board is designed to help give your students more access to the standards that they will be assessed on in their 9th and 10th grade years, and we have high hopes for this program moving forward. Ask your student about their College Board account—yes, they have one, and it is active! With new standards in our English and math classes, plus some in science and social studies, we are trying to think of creative ways to ensure that your Patriots are Meeting the Challenge and Leaving a Legacy that they are proud of. If you have any questions about our curriculum and instruction in a specific area, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

The fall is always an exciting time for high school students, and we have several amazing activities planned for this semester and beyond. Outside of our baseline testing opportunities and other academic work, we have a ton of athletic and artistic events happening around campus, culminating with our spirit and Homecoming week, which is October 14-19. As always, it is a great time to be a Patriot!

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support as we got this school year going. I am so lucky to be able to work with such a tight-knit community of individuals who have one goal in mind…the well-being of our students and giving them the high school experience that they deserve! Thank you all for everything that you do to help us, and Go Patriots!

A washed-up playwright finds a chance to rise to the top once more, a shot he’d be willing to kill for. Two-thirds a thriller and one-third a devilishly clever comedy… Suspend your disbelief and be delighted. Scream a little. It’s good for you!

LBHS PTSO

LBHS PTSA IS NOW LBHS PTSO!

To kick off the 2024-2025 school year, LBHS PTSO hosted a faculty breakfast and an on-campus popsicle event for students during their lunch periods. We enjoy supporting our students and faculty.

We also helped welcome students back at schedule pick-up and partnered with the LBHS school counselors for Coffee with the Counselors, where our counseling staff presented academic information and answered questions from parents.

Thank you to Wawa, Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and all parents who donated items for these events!

A PTSO membership is a great way to support our school. A student membership is only $5, and a parent membership is $10. Please use the QR code to sign up!

Lake Brantley Rowing Association (LBRA)

Lake Brantley Rowing Association (LBRA) is celebrating our 36th anniversary during this school year. That is 36 years of teamwork and family, of hard work and dedication, and of a winning spirit that has led to many titles and victories. New rowers are always welcome! No experience is necessary—our coaches, captains, and returning rowers can teach all of the necessary skills. Interested students can join LBRA for a free trial week. From freshmen to seniors and everywhere in between, it’s never too late to come give it a try!

We are excited for the fall season, which includes several local regattas as well as the annual team trip to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the Head of the Hooch, one of the largest regattas in the United States. Check out www.headofthehooch.org for more information on that amazing event. LBRA also has a middle school team (5th-8th grade) and an adult masters’ program (18+) for any family members or friends who may be interested. For more information about LBRA, please check out our website at www.lakebrantleyrowing.org, follow us on Instagram or Facebook, or contact Tara McLain at 407-748-8838. We are always happy to answer any questions. Come join us for an exciting season on the water!
