Go Wildcats!
Message from Assistant Principal of Attendance & Discipline Hello Wildcat Families! It’s so great to be starting another school year at NNMS. There is so much to look forward to and it’s been really cool to see our newest Wildcats, the 6th graders, acclimating themselves nicely. In order to ensure a successful year for all, please see the following recommendations:
Attendance: We highly value your child’s presence each and every day. Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success, and we’re hoping you make school attendance a priority. Please see the following recommendations: • Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day, and make that the expectation • Help your child maintain daily routines such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep • Try not to schedule dental and medical appointments during the school day • Don’t let your child stay home unless truly sick
Responsibility: In addition to attendance being a priority, please see the following recommendations to ensure your child has a successful year: • Ensure your child shows up to school with their Student ID every day—safety is our #1 priority • Encourage your child to be responsible with their laptops. Students are accountable for their usage and any damages. • Come to school every day prepared with your school supplies, homework, and a charged laptop • Be respectful of others….Treat others the way you want to be treated • Please visit the following link to review the CCPS Student Code of Conduct: ◊ https://www.collierschools.com/Page/284 • Discuss the importance of staying safe by reporting conflicts and suspicious behaviors, and avoiding negative peer pressures Thanks for all you do Wildcat Families, and we look forward to an AWESOME year! -Mr. Berning
