A Fall Full of Fun... The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department makes sure that this season is full of activities where citizens will learn, create, and play. Step back in time at the annual Harvest Festival at Lyndon House Arts Center. Experience what life was like before electricity! Exhibitors will be on site to show attendees the crafts and skills from years past including butter churning, rug hooking, quilting, and much more. Need a little art in your life? Make sure to stop by the annual Lickskillet Artists Market and Festival at Lyndon House Arts Center on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Dozens of artists will have their art work available for purchase - drawings, glass, paintings, and more. Get out and enjoy the fall weather and participate in the annual Jack-O-Lantern Jog and Goblin Fun Run benefitting Sandy Creek Nature Center, Inc. Prizes are awarded for top finishers in each age division for the race. This annual event is scheduled for Sunday, October 26 at Sandy Creek Nature Center. ART EXHIBITIONS Lyndon House Arts Center presents continually changing art exhibitions which feature the broad range of works by practicing local and area artists in a variety of media, styles and concepts. From traditional to avant-garde, works by professional, novice, young or elder artists can be seen in Lyndon House Arts Center galleries. Some exhibitions are theme presentations, some are competitions, and some are targeted to a specific media or a local patron’s collection. Children visiting the galleries must be accompanied and supervised by an adult for the safety of the artwork and for artwork content. Period Decorative Arts c.1840-1890 and Athens History Museum Display
The Ware-Lyndon House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, represents a blend of the Greek Revival and Italianate styles. Resplendent furnishings showcase period decorative arts of the mid and late 1800’s. Museum quality memorabilia in the Historic Display Room highlight significant aspects of Athens history. This informal gathering of teens, who like to draw Anime and cartoons of all kinds, meets twice each month. Mandatory Orientation for Fall Classes
All new families are required to attend orientation on Wednesday, August 13 at 5:30 p.m. Failure to attend will result in the student’s registration being cancelled.

Registration must be made by the parent or legal guardian. Registration is held at the Dance Center at 390 McKinley Drive. Birth certificate is required to register children six years of age. Fall Quarter registration for ACC residents will be held on Saturday, August 2 from 9:00 a.m. - noon at the East Athens Educational Dance Center. Non-residents can register beginning Wednesday, August 6 between 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. No Friday registrations. If classes are not filled by registration deadline date, registration will continue until classes are 6
filled. Registration must be made by the parent or legal guardian. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and held at East Athens Educational Dance Center, 390 McKinley Drive. Birth certificate is required to register children age six and younger.

ACCELERATED DANCE PROGRAMS Students are accepted into the accelerated programs by audition or recommendation of the EAEDC teaching staff. Children ages 6-15 years with at least one year of dance training. These programs offer intensive technical training to develop and strengthen posture, placement, flexibility, balance, coordination, and rhythm. The student is expected to improve movement quality, and gain a greater understanding of dance theory and composition.

Upcoming Registration Dates: Fall 2014 Fall Program Registration Begins: Saturday, August 2, 2014 (ACC residents) Wednesday, August 6, 2014 (Non-residents) Registration Fees:
Fees are due at the time of registration. Checks should be made payable to “Athens-Clarke County.” All payments made using a credit card will be charged a $3 “convenience fee” to be added to the cost of services. There is not an additional fee charged for payments made with a debit card.
Refund Policy:
• If a class or program is canceled due to insufficient enrollment or other reason, ACC Leisure Services will issue a full refund to all registered individuals. • No refunds will be granted after the start of the program or class. Collected fees of less than $5 will not be refunded (unless the department cancels the program or class). • Refund requests must be received no less than seven (7) business days prior to the first day of class or program. • Refunds will be assessed a 25% administrative fee. • After the seven (7) day deadline, refunds will not be granted without a written medical excuse from a licensed physician.

Scholarships
Any Athens-Clarke County resident under the age of 18 is eligible for consideration for a scholarship. A list of required documents to determine scholarship eligibility is available by calling 706-613-3800 or at www.athensclarkecounty.com/scholarships Scholarships do not cover admission, entrance, field trips, rental fees, or adult programs. Parents must apply for a scholarship prior to the day of program registration. All scholarships expire June 30 and must be renewed.
Smoking Policy
Sec. 4-3-2. Smoking Prohibited in Athens-Clarke County Facilities. Smoking shall be prohibited in all enclosed facilities of, including buildings owned, leased, operated by the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County. Smoking shall be prohibited within the boundaries of any park, youth sports complex, or recreation area owned, leased, or operated by the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, including any open area within such park, youth sports complex, or recreation area.
