Sandy Creek Nature Center exists to help people understand the natural world, especially the Georgia Piedmont, and our part in it. Our primary goals are to: s Stimulate awareness, appreciation and sound stewardship of our natural resources.

Where Our Funding Comes From The nature center is a facility of the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department. General operating funds come from the Athens-Clarke County government. Additional funding is provided by Sandy Creek Nature Center, Inc., a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization that founded the nature center in 1973. Your membership contributions are used to enhance the programs at the center.
