ANNUAL REPORT 2014-15
MESSAGE
from the Chair of the Board of Governors and President of Assiniboine Community College This past year was one of progress for ACC on a number of fronts. The Board of Governors continued to support the college’s strategic direction, with the mission of transforming lives and strengthening Manitoba through applied education and research. Over the past year, the college developed its North Hill Campus Master Plan. The planning process spanned many months and involved individuals and groups from across the college and broader community through workshops and open houses. Martijn Van Luijn, Chair
In early 2015, the Board of Governors adopted the plan as a tool for decision-making by college administration over the coming decades. The campus master plan embodies the college’s strategic direction and will deliver unparalleled learning experiences and a unique campus environment for students, staff and the public. The Board continues to advocate for development of the North Hill Campus as a way to grow our quality programs responsive to Manitoba’s labour market and help the province’s goal to add 75,000 additional people to the workforce by 2020. The college is committed to doubling its number of graduates by 2025. And we’re making strides towards that goal! Our latest Graduate Satisfaction and Employment Survey shows that 96 per cent of recent graduates who were seeking work are currently employed. Further, nearly 80 per cent of those working have jobs that are permanent. And 94 per cent of graduates choose to stay in Manitoba, helping to strengthen our provincial economy and contribute to a skilled workforce.
Mark Frison, President
The Board and college leadership would like to make special note of the outstanding contributions of ACC faculty and staff over the past year. Their continued dedication to improving our college for the benefit of students, industry partners and communities does not go unnoticed. It is through their commitment, collaboration and passion for education that ACC continues to thrive.
Martijn Van Luijn, Chair Assiniboine Community College Board of Governors
Mark Frison, President Assiniboine Community College
