Robert Alejandro
When artist Robert Alejandro looks at a simple leaf he sees an entire fashion scene: There are cowgirls and mods, ladies in waiting and ladies who lunch, urban fashionistas and fans of the avant-garde. Like many fashion designers who have been inspired by the natural world, Alejandro creates sartorial illustrations—each one a fashion moment—prompted by the greenery that surrounds him in his native Philippines. And the leaf that first caught his eye becomes a seamless part of the garment.
