TRAINING FOR BUSINESS FIRST AID APPLY FIRST AID

TRAINER: Serge Brecard This one-day course is based on pre-reading and completion of a workbook before attendance at the course. The workbook will be provided when you enrol. Course fee includes a manual and face shield. Refresher courses are now done within the one-day format and although the pre-reading and completion of the workbook are not required for a refresher, they are recommended. Courses are fully accredited and Work Cover approved. These courses are offered in partnership with Parasol EMT RTO number 2551, who will issue successful participants with a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID003 Apply First Aid. Please note that anyone undertaking the refresher course must present their current Statement of Attainment to the trainer at the start of the course.

These are two highly regarded qualifications by employers in the industry, bundled into one course. This combined qualification gives graduates the skills and knowledge to carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual’s wellbeing through personal care and/or other activities of living.

This qualification is suitable for people that want to work in community and/or residential facilities. These workers will carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people with a disability, carry out activities related to an individualised plan and report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.

Reporting to Service Managers and liaising with professionals and other service providers, they may also be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

SUCCESSFUL ONLINE LEARNING REQUIRES: Personal skills. In the online environment, and particularly as a distance education student, it’s beneficial to be an active learner who takes responsibility for their own learning, motivation and self discipline. Literacy skills. Studying online is dependent on strong reading and writing skills. Much subject content will be delivered by readings, and a lot of your communication will be in written form. If you know these are not your areas of strength, seek some support and try and develop these skills. Study skills. Studying online requires many of the same skills as traditional face-to-face study. Things like time management, motivation, being clear of expectations and exam preparation still remain important aspects of study. General computer skills. You will need at least a basic level of proficiency in computer use to successfully study online. Necessary -skills include word processing, file management, saving and printing. Internet skills. Being able to go to specific URLs, book-marking, saving and printing web pages will all be important skills. More advanced skills such as web searching and website evaluation would also benefit most students.

Fermented foods are a time honoured traditional way to provide probiotic rich food into your diet for balanced gut health. Most cultures have one or more fermented foods that they have made the same way for thousands of years. In this easy 3 hour course you will learn the background of some of the traditional techniques for making delicious fermented vegetables and drinks that you can make at home. Learn how to make sauerkraut, kim chi and other cultured vegetables just using what you have in your kitchen, no need to buy any special equipment. Our trainer Deborah will bring along other fermented goodies for you to taste.You will take home samples of everything you make on the day plus recipes to try for yourself at home. TRAINER: John Fittell This course is designed for anyone with a digital camera. From beginners with their first camera to the more experienced who are looking to improve their skills? This inclusive course covers everything from the basics of photography and getting to know your camera through to practical aspects that will make a real difference to your images. It is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to be able to pick up your camera at any time and instinctively take a fabulous image.

Earn additional income with creative writing. This course is designed for those who are motivated to blend the imaginative skills of creative writing, photography and Photoshop, to compose articles ready for presentation to the various streams of print media. Writing streams could cover a diverse range of themes including magazine articles, media releases, travel articles or short stories.

Basic Photoshop techniques including file management, levels, curves, colour corrections, removing imperfections, sharpening and cropping images will also be covered. Participants must bring their own digital SLR camera.

The first component of the course will cover topic selection for your writing theme and will concentrate on creating short written masterpieces. Our second section will focus on creating photos that will pop and compliment your written article. The final element of the course will concentrate on combining your words and images to enable a polished, professional article to be composed, ready for publication.
