中英 合作 UK-CHINA COLLABORATION
2013年6月17日下午，中国国务院总理李克强同英国首相卡梅伦在伦敦举行中英总理年度会晤后共同会见记者。
ABP International Alliance ABP International Alliance is a business-focused organisation working to stimulate trade and investment amongst global enterprises across a wide range of business sectors. The Alliance’s first focus is on the UK and China. It is initiated and led by ABP – the international development company behind the recent £1 billion investment into London’s Royal Albert Dock. The goal of the ABP International Alliance is to assist businesses to expand into new international markets and to take advantage of opportunities emerging through the strengthening of trade relations between the UK and China. From 2014, UK strategic partners will come on board and as its membership grows and its activities develop, the ABP International Alliance will extend beyond Europe and Asia. It is estimated that there will be more than 1,000 companies and organisations participating as partners.

HOW DOES THE ALLIANCE WORK? The Alliance’s strengths lie in its hands-on approach, and it strives to identify and carve out opportunities. It is comprised of senior figures from business and business support organisations in the UK and China. The Alliance undertakes research and works closely with governments in both the UK and China when devising strategies and action plans to support its members. Networking is a key feature of the activities, and providing the tools for “revolutionary business innovation” is the Alliance’s core objective. A number of initiatives are already underway or planned, and more activities will be announced as the Alliance and its strategic partners work to create business opportunities.

Alliance Activities The Alliance aims to provide ongoing and sustainable platforms for productive business exchange through a series of planned and regularly held debates, conferences and lively business discussions.
UK-CHINA INVESTMENT The Alliance will bring experts together from a wide range of ADVISORY COMMITTEE sectors to form a UK-China Investment Advisory Committee, assisting interested enterprises to break down barriers to business HEARINGS
expansion in a series of hearings regularly held in the UK and China.
OPENING OF UK-CHINA TRADE CENTRE
The Trade Centre planned to open in 2015 will create an invaluable channel for enterprises to find new suppliers and potential business partners in the UK. In addition, there will be a large-scale UK-China Trade Fair held annually in London from 2016.
SPECIALISED BUSINESS SUMMITS
Regularly-held summits are designed for experts from diverse professional backgrounds – such as economists, cultural critics, artists, social entrepreneurs – to discuss cutting-edge, high-tech topics in order to inspire and create the forward momentum for “revolutionary business innovation”.
BUSINESS FORUMS
A succession of forums will encourage UK and China enterprises to communicate with each other. These informal but dynamic platforms create numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors to collaborate and initiate innovative business projects together.
BUSINESS LEADERS MENTORING SCHEME
The ABP Alliance is launching a Mentoring Scheme through which the Chairmen and Chief Executives of UK and China businesses give and receive one-to-one advice from the heads of experienced international companies to assist them to navigate business and cultural challenges.
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORY OF BUSINESSES
The Alliance will publish the first edition of the Directory, presenting an up-to-date guide of international businesses exporting to China and other destinations. This reliable tool is for enterprises to find new contracts, supply chains and business opportunities.
“BOARDROOM DIRECT” GRADUATE PROGRAMME
Dedicated to help develop tomorrow’s business leaders, the Graduate Programme will involve a panel of experienced entrepreneurs, who will advise on the strongest ideas from talented graduates, and a Career Consultancy Committee, which will encourage graduates to take inspiring business career paths.

Why UK and China businesses want to work together 中英合作原由分解
UK and China businesses have what it takes to promote mutual economic prosperity. China represents a massive market for UK companies across all sectors and there is potential for increased growth. The UK, on the other hand, remains an attractive destination for China for its secure economic foundations and an international advantage including financial services. Bilateral trade between the UK and China is rapidly growing. Trade between the UK and China is at a record high and surpassed $70 billion (£43 billion) in 2013 with the UK’s exports to China growing more than any other EU country. The UK is also among the top 10 nations globally for outbound Chinese investment and attracts more than double the investment of any other nation in Europe. Exports from the UK now reach more than £1 billion per month. Relations between the governments of the UK and China are cordial. With the help of Prime Minister David Cameron, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, and London Mayor Boris Johnson, various financial institutions and insurance companies from China have successfully opened offices in the UK. Recent examples include China Ping An Insurance Group’s purchases of the Lloyds Building, and China Investment Corporation’s purchases of the Winchester House in London.

Q: What do you think are the most important resources that international enterprises need in order to succeed? 问：许为平先生，您觉得企业需要什么必要的 资源才能最终获得成功？

Mr. Xu: Two of the most useful assets for any business are information and opportunity. Good quality information is invaluable in understanding market trends, the competitive landscape, the most advantageous time for investment, and what returns can be anticipated for that investment.
Mr. Xu: ABP joined with other enterprises in the UK and China to form the International Alliance because we recognised the need for a business-centric organisation that could gather market intelligence and also identify and generate opportunities.
All businesses need opportunities. Trade and investment between the UK and China have never been stronger but much more can still be done. Many companies in both countries are seeking ways to do business together but are not finding each other. ABOUT ABP ABP, which in China stands for Advanced Business Park, was founded in China in 2003 and has established a reputation for developing large-scale headquarters districts where clusters of companies thrive. The company’s first project at ABP Beijing is a completed development of more than 400 large office buildings. Work is already underway at ABP Qingdao for 800 office buildings, and at ABP Shenyang for more than 2,000 office buildings. In the UK, ABP is transforming Royal Albert Dock into the Asian Business Port. This £1 billion investment will create London’s next financial district in a unique project bringing together enterprises from the East and West into a vibrant new international commercial centre. ABP announced in September 2013 that it was seeking worldwide opportunities and establishing its global headquarters in London. ABP International Alliance was formed in 2014.
