POKER VARIATIONS YOU MUST TRY “Just play every hand, you can’t miss them all.” Sammy Farha Whether you are an original game fanatic or a variations connoisseur, a game of poker is all the refreshing change you need. With several variations to offer; the challenge is exacerbated for poker players as they are used to playing skill-based games with no margin requirement and plenty of strategies. Let’s dive into a few poker variations! Texas Hold’em

Texas Hold'em is the most popular poker variant right now. Texas Hold'em is certainly the most featured game, with a broad range of tables and stakes to select from. You can typically find this game being played anyplace poker is available. After each player has been dealt two hole cards, the action begins with the player to the left of the large blind and proceeds clockwise. These are the community cards that are for all players to utilise at the same time in order to construct the strongest poker hand possible. As per Texas Holdem Poker Rules, the player who has the best 5-card poker hand, out of the combination made from the 5 community cards and 2 hole cards, wins. Omaha - Pot Limit Omaha - PLO 4

The second most popular game in the Poker community in Omaha, one of its variations is PLO4 - Pot Limit Omaha 4. Each player is dealt four hole cards instead of two. As before, players attempt to make the best five-card hand but must use two of their four hole cards and only three of the five community cards. Due to the increased number of hole cards dealt, making a strong hand gets easier. Pot Limit Omaha, as the name implies, is played using Pot-Limit rules, which means that the maximum bet amount allowed is determined by the size of the pot. Remember the one significant distinction between PLO and Texas Hold'em: in Omaha, you must always employ two of your hole cards and three of the community cards to construct your hand. 5-Card Omaha

A game for anyone who enjoys making big, strong hands! Instead of the traditional four hole cards, participants in this poker variant are dealt with five. The gameplay remains the same, players have to precisely use two hole cards and three community cards to create their strongest 5 card hand possible. Due to the addition of one more card to the same, it becomes easier to construct and generate the best poker hands! 7 Card Stud

Played with both face-up and face-down cards, stud is one of the most popular games in the poker family. Unlike the previously described types of games, each player in Stud receives their own individual hand. The players are dealt two face-down cards and one face-up card. The betting continues for the next 5 rounds where 3 face-up cards are dealt with the oneness who continue to play their hands. The last card is dealt face-down, at which point each player must make the best possible 5-card hand out of the seven cards they have received. When the final betting round is over, the player with the best hand wins. Short Deck Poker

Also known as 6 Plus Hold’em, the game is played with a 36-card deck. Short Deck Hold'em is a game similar to Texas Hold'em, except the 2s through 5s cards, are removed. As a result of removing the 2s through 5, the hand rankings change: a flush in poker for this variation is better than a full house. With fewer cards, the unpredictability increases, as do the possibilities of making stronger hands more frequently. The possibility of large profits can be yours if you develop your own winning strategy in this variation early on. Considering the existence of these different versions, you should always double-check the rankings of the game you're playing.
