Kindergarten

The first day of kindergarten marked an exciting and emotional time for students, parents, and teachers, alike It began with many tears and fears but quickly transitioned into a fun-filled day full of laughter and love that set the tone for the rest of the school year. Unease about new peers became close bonds to last a lifetime. Vulnerability in an unfamiliar environment became confidence in celebrating our uniqueness. Anxieties from learning independently became perseverance to overcome various challenges. Each child brought their own unique talents, experiences, and personalities to share in our blossoming classroom.

Throughout the school year, we worked hard to establish our classroom as a happy, challenging, comfortable, and safe learning environment that allowed each student to achieve their personal best. It was a crucial year for building the foundation of learning. They developed a love of storytelling, expanded their phonemic awareness, and began counting and using simple addition and subtraction. Through inquiry learning, the students were encouraged to start making sense of the world around them.

We laughed, we sang, we explored, we created, we grew! The children are a few inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than on that first day. We can hardly wait to see all that is in store for their bright futures!
