Year 1 was a challenging yet exciting year for our students as they embarked on a remarkable journey of growth and development. Throughout the year, they dedicated ample time to understanding and incorporating the IB Learner Profiles into their learning process, paving the way for a strong foundation.

One of the key aspects of their journey was learning to be open-minded. By delving into the rich tapestry of cultures and backgrounds present in their classmates, they fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another, fostering a harmonious learning environment.

Art became a powerful medium for selfexpression and emotional exploration. From the captivating styles of artists like Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock, and George Seurat, the students learned to tap into their creativity and communicate their feelings artistically. They even had the opportunity to translate their twodimensional drawings of the school into awe-inspiring 3D projects, utilizing recyclable materials and showcasing their artistic prowess.

Year 1 was also a time of scientific discovery and critical thinking. Engaging in various experiments, the students honed their skills as thinkers and inquirers, embracing the scientific process and developing a genuine curiosity for the world around them.

Reflectivity played a vital role in their personal growth. The students learned to evaluate their past activities, identifying areas for improvement and striving to become effective communicators both in the classroom and at home. They embraced the value of being principled, exhibiting exemplary behaviour both inside and outside the classroom, and showcasing their caring nature by extending kindness to all members of their community.

As we bid farewell to Year 1, we are filled with pride and admiration for their accomplishments. They have overcome challenges, embraced new experiences, and developed essential skills that will serve as a strong foundation for their future endeavours. We have no doubt that these young learners will continue to thrive as they progress through their educational journey.
