CCPE Background

The Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential is earned annually across the country and this year 29 physicians have gained this certification. Candidates for the credential must fulfill baseline criteria for application and then must complete a peer review/assessment process. This assessment confirms that they have the expertise, skills and leadership in their background that would make them valuable in steering the very direction of health care - not to mention giving them appropriate national recognition. The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and the Canadian Society of Physician Executives are the sponsors/founders/architects of this credential and are in agreement that the group attaining the certification this year is of a high calibre.

Previous members of the Department of Pediatrics who have earned the CCPE certification are: Dr. Valerie Kirk and Dr. Cheri Nijssen-Jordan
