The Canadian Medical Association bestows the Dr. William Marsden Award to the CMA member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment and dedication to the cause of advancing and promoting excellence in the field of medical ethics in Canada. The Section of Respiratory Medicine is extremely proud to announce that the 2013 winner of this prestigious award is our very own Dr. Ian Mitchell. This recent award tops off a very exciting couple of years for Dr. Mitchell, where recognition for his dedication to patients, families, care teams and colleagues has come in like a tidal wave. He has also been recognized for aiding those unknown to him, as you'll see below. His accomplishments are only matched by his modesty, though it is necessary to tabulate what has happened over the last couple of years.
