BACKGROUND Formaldehyde or HCHO, is a gas with strong odour, is colourless, and is water soluble. In solution state it is known as formalin. It is a VOC in high ambient temperatures and tends to get collected in indoors in case of high concentration. For HCHO measurement the closed space should be well sealed for 5 - 8 hours before we measure the HCHO concentration. PRODUCT OVERVIEW Weiber HCHO Monitor with alarm is an ideal instrument to measure the HCHO or the formaldehyde in scientific research and general field applications. For the reason, that it is potentially VOC in high ambient temperatures, its presence has to be ascertained. WORKING PRINCIPLE The technique to be effective requires formaldehyde in aqueous solutions. So, therefore, an aqueous solution is obtained and the gaseous formaldehyde is put in. A stripping solution is then used to separate liquid and air streams in a glass separator and the solution is then analyzed for formaldehyde.
