Edina Public Schools will likely ask taxpayers to foot a $45 million technology upgrade over the next decade. The Edina School Board discussed renewing its capital project referendum Monday, June 20, at a rate more than four times the amount of the expiring levy. Currently, Edina collects about $1 million in taxes a year specifically for technology projects. That levy expires in 2012. It would be replaced by a $4.5 million annual levy for the next 10 years if approved by voters. The board is expected to authorize the technology refer-

mas from an Edina high school will serve as grand marshals of the 2011 Fourth of July Parade. “As the parent of two Edina students, I know how important Edina Public Schools are to the community,” Parade Committee Chairman Richard Olson said, “and we are delighted to have the opportunity to recognize the first graduating class of Edina-Morningside High School.” About 30 members of the class will
