Twin Cities Show Chorus sees success in competition, charity work

BY BILLIE JO RASSAT • SUN NEWSPAPERS Winning is important, but it is not everything as the Twin Cities Show Chorus is all about the joy of singing. The Twin Cities Show Chorus is a chapter in the Canadian-American Region Six and is affiliated with the global singing organization known as Sweet Adelines International. The group features women from the ages of 18 to 80 among its more than 65 members. Traveling from as far as Wisconsin and as close as Richfield, Edina and Bloomington, the Twin Cities Show Chorus rehearses every Tuesday night from 7-10 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Peace in Richfield or the Calvary Lutheran Church in Edina. Celebrating 35 years together, the group is led by Master Director Judy Olson. “We have been lucky to have an artistic director that can really dance,” member and Lead Section Coordinator Wendy Hamilton said. Olson is an accomplished choreographer and a member of the Sweet Adelines International Music Faculty. Traveling frequently, Olson coaches choruses and quartets in staging, choreography and performance techniques. The Twin Cities Show Chorus is not just a

After many drafts, Wellington Management is “getting closer” to making the right fit for the city of Richfield at the property on 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue, said Mayor Debbie Goettel. Beginning in the spring of 2010 Wellington Management begun to pursue the purchase of the old Kmart building and property near the intersection. Since then, in March 2011, a purchase agreement was signed and an anticipated closing date is tentatively set for August, according to Wellington Management President Stephen Wellington Jr. From the beginning,
