BY SUE WEBBER CONTRIBUTING WRITER Judi Kieper of Crystal has made a part-time job out of tracing her family’s Swedish roots. “I’ve spent thousands of hours on it in the last nine years,” Kieper said. “I’ve gone back 12 generations. I’m putting it into notebooks for my kids.” Kieper does her research at the Family History Center at the Church of Jesus Christ-LDS, 2801 Douglas Drive, in Crystal. I put my grandma’s name into the computer one day, and up popped my great-grandpa and grandma.” “It’s really interesting to find out what people did for a living,” said Kieper, a native of Duluth who has many family members that were farmers or ironworkers. She and her sister traveled to Sweden in 2007 and stayed with a cousin, Kieper said. “It looks a lot like Minnesota there,” she noted. A 45-year resident of Crystal who worked for Park Nicollet prior to retirement, Kieper said she’d gone by
