Harriet Martin
I moved to Cayman from London in April 2021 to join the busy and growing Private Capital & Trusts team at Walkers, where I assist with the establishment and structuring of private/family offices and the relocation of UHNWs to Cayman. I had not visited Cayman before I moved here and didn’t really know anyone on the Island personally so I had a lot of questions in relation to all aspects of establishing myself here, including finding a property and a car etc. I was extremely relieved to find that Cayman Resident had a wealth of information available online, and I still find myself referring to the magazine I picked up when I arrived. I have found Cayman Resident to be an invaluable resource during the lead up to my arrival and my first few months on the Island, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone in a similar position. Harriet is an Associate in the Private Capital and Trusts group at Walkers.

I moved to Grand Cayman earlier this year, to join the growing team at The Security Centre. This wasn’t my first time being here in Grand Cayman, I visited back in 1985 when I was in the Royal Navy, and Seven Mile Beach area was still totally underdeveloped! My wife Karen and I first lived here in the beautiful Cayman Islands back in 2003, and I wish we had the Cayman Resident back then to help us with our move! The online version is so useful. For us this year, being able to research and plan our move whilst on the other side of the world during the COVID-19 lockdown, was much appreciated. On arrival our rental apartment had the hard copy available, and this became our go-to source of information, which I would thoroughly recommend to travellers, visitors, and new residents alike. John Le Cuirot is the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Security Centre.

My husband and I met working here in Cayman just over 10 years ago. We left Island to start our family and to no surprise decided to come back in Fall of 2020. I remembered Cayman Resident from when we were here previously and looked it up online. Let me just say it did not disappoint! It was a fantastic guide for us as we planned our move back, which by the way is a whole new game with kids and pets this time round. Everything we needed to know, all in one place. I arrived on Island in June 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Cayman Resident was my one-stop shop for everything I needed to know about life on the Island from the work permit process to obtaining a driving licence. The Cayman Resident is an invaluable source of information and I don’t know whether I would have settled into the Cayman Islands way of life so quickly without it and my friendly, helpful colleagues at Collas Crill. Making such a significant career move, it was comforting to know that the gorgeous photos of the Island on the Cayman Resident website live up to reality and that the financial services sector is thriving here in the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Resident is on my book shelf and will be my go-to source of information regarding my exploration of the Cayman Islands. Thank you for providing such comprehensive information that’s easily digestible. Laura Oseland is an Associate in the Corporate, Finance and Funds team at Collas Crill.

I made the exciting move to the Cayman Islands in November 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to making the move I knew very little about actually living on the Island and was aware I would face the many difficulties of travelling in the pandemic. Cayman Resident provided me with comprehensive information both prior to my departure and on my arrival to the Island, including the various COVID-19 travel and quarantine requirements, basic living, health and wellbeing, real estate and leisure activities. In my experience, if you need to know anything Cayman, Cayman Resident has the answer. Bryce Doran is a Senior Accountant at Grant Thornton Specialist Services.

We moved to the Cayman Islands at the end of August 2020. After many years spent teaching in a boarding school in the UK, I thought that it would be great to teach abroad and discover a new culture. Being originally from the Alps in France, I had no idea what to expect as I didn’t know much about living in the Cayman Islands. It is during our quarantine in a hotel that I discovered the Cayman Resident which put my mind at ease as it had all the contacts and information I needed. I spend my quarantine reading the Cayman Resident meticulously and I have to say that even now after a year, it is my go-to site whenever I need to find quick information.
