ACRBO inbox Going to start a blog on my website come 2013. Where can I get content.

Should I advertise 24/7 support? You can always advertise it but then it will become a matter of following through.

Congrats on the blog. Now you can either write the content yourself or find bloggers that might be interested. Some will do for free and others will charge a fee.

Like I said in theory it might sound good but typically not very realistic. In our business the only people that get true 24/7 support are the businesses that pay us monthly for maintenance contracts. Dan ACRBO

Typically a free blogger is going to want to do links to whatever product they are trying to pitch. But, you can find people to pay per word etc and get some pretty decent content that way also.

TOP EMAILS

TOP EMAILS

It might sound impressive to say you offer 24/7 support but in reality are you going to do it? If you get a call at 2a.m. for a virus are you going to go to them? Are you going to remote into them? Are they just going to have to leave a message on your answering machine?

Most important thing is if you are going to put a blog make sure that it is updated and does not just site there with outdated material on it. Dan ACRBO

Have a question? If so email it do dan@acrbo.com and we will be glad to answer it. It can be business related pertaiing to marketing, setting up your business, growth of your business or anything you can think of.

Is Network Marketing For You? A Few Key Questions To Ask Running your own business is a dream for many people. You have the opportunity to set your own hours and achieve an income that you would never get from a traditional 9 to 5. Lots of people think that it is easy to jump online and to make the big bucks. Unfortunately, most of these people do not realize that it takes work, determination and focus to achieve success as a network marketer. You cannot simply build a Facebook page or blog and think that leads will come pouring in. Some things you have to ask yourself are:

Even if you have experience as a tech, you have to put in the time to run an effective business that you will profit from.

1. Why a business? To me this is very important. It’s one thing to say “I want to own my own business” but it’s another to know exactly why you feel that way. Did you leave your last job? Do you think you can make more money on your own? You really need to list out your reasons. 2. Do you believe in your technical abilities? This is extremely important. to know upfront. If you have been in the industry for some time then it’s safe that you probably have the experience necessary to do the technical work with no problem. If you are just starting out in the tech field then you might find yourself running into problems that you have never encountered and that can hinder your business.

4. Are you a people person? The majority of your business you will have to to interact with people effectively. To develop leads, make sales and provide customer service, this personality trait must shine through. Luckily, you can develop an attitude that people gravitate towards. If you are an introverted person you should practice interacting with people. Learn from others who are having success in the business. The key here is to realize that your business revolves around people. 5. Do you have a support network?

3. Are you a good business person? I know many a tech that is outstanding in their profession but a nightmare at running a business. It’s like night and day doing a comparison. But, running a business you have to be able to do it all just not the technical side of things. So think about those places you previously worked and all the day to day things that go into running a business and you are going to be responsible for those things. Are you familiar with things such as: HR Payroll Taxes Marketing

A support network will be a group of people you can rely on. You should seek out a mentor to help you learn the ropes. This person will have gone through what you are going through as a beginner and can help guide you. Likewise, in your personal life, you should surround yourself with positive people who help push you beyond your comfort zone. These people will support you rather than make you feel stagnant or bring you down. To answer the question You must realize that it takes time, patience and--above all--hard work. You can achieve your financial dreams with this business, but you must be willing to learn what is required. Write a detailed list or even a business plan and spell it all out and keep going over it. It’s much easier when you see it in writing vice just thinking about it.

TRANSLATING WEBSITE ANALYTICS INTO SALES Website analytics refers to collecting, measuring and analyzing data from your company's website and is often used to help improve the site. However, the data collected can also help drive and improve your sales as well. On a basic level, web analytics is a tool for measuring traffic to your site. But, it can be a much more powerful tool when used for improving your website, market research, generating business, and sales. In order to use your webpages metrics to help improve sales, you need to know your website's key performance indicators. The first metric to understand is how many visitors your website receives within a given timeframe (day, week, month, etc) and then to break that down further to unique visitors, first time/one time only and repeat visitors. The next metric to understand is page views, how many pages on your website did your visitor view? The term, bounces, refers to visitors who only view one page and then leave a site. Lastly, you should know your conversion rate. This is the rate that a visitor to your site becomes a lead (fills out 'contact me' information) or makes a purchase. Many businesses may only focus on the number of visitors or the conversion rate of their site, without paying attention to the information to be unearthed by analyzing page views, bounces and unique vs. repeat visitors. For instance, when analyzing the behavior of repeat visitors, page views can begin to shed light on your viewer's behaviors. Page views show if certain pages are repeatedly visited, perhaps the viewer is mulling a decision or which pages are the last ones visited before leaving a site, the viewer has all her info or gets confused and leaves the site.

By understanding how your social media presence ties with your print/broadcasting campaigns, you gain an even larger understanding of what drives visitors to your site and your opportunity to increase your conversion rate.

Local Ads: Users Use Google Before Bing,Yahoo! Where should a local business take its ad business: Google, Bing, Yahoo? Apparently, Google, finds online ad network and data analytics firm Chitika Insights. While each search engine handles a hefty amount of Web traffic, Chitika found that Google users are more likely to search for local goods and services than are Yahoo! or Bing users. Some 43% of Google searches indicate a user’s interest in local services and products versus 25% for Yahoo! and Bing searches. The company studied the queries passed on by each search engine for several million ad impressions for the one-week period of September 21 through 27 2012. Chitika then measured these queries against its database of local keywords and phrases (e.g. "near me," "in Boston," "around St. Louis," etc.). This, says Chitika, could be an indication of Google's success in spurring users to look for local businesses via its Maps application. Breaking this down by mobile versus non-mobile local search, the difference between the search engines is even more dramatic, with 74% of Google local search being mobile versus 17% on Yahoo and 7% on Bing (see graphic). Combined with Google’s larger share of searches performed on the Web (which Chitika measures at over 75% this past month), the company believes that Google traffic is a must have for local businesses, particularly on the first page of results for important keywords or phrases.

Facebook Passes 1 Billion Users Milestone Facebook has passed the one billion user milestone underlining the dominance of the site in the social media market. Founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg revealed the figure in a post on the site on Thursday morning. "This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month. If you're reading this: thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you," he said. "Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life. "I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too." The firm revealed the figure was officially hit on September 14, and that to date some 219 billion photos have been uploaded to the site. The announcement is a significant milestone in the company's history but comes as it struggles to reignite early fervor around the firm after a disastrous flotation on the stock market. Much of its initial value has been wiped off after the share price plunged in opening weeks due to concerns around its mobile performance and rumors of alleged insider knowledge being given to banks ahead of the launch. Earlier this year, the firm revealed it had passed 900 million members, underlining the speed of its growth, although almost 100 million of the profiles were revealed to be fake in a later filing by then firm. It's not clear from the update from Zuckerberg if the one billion figure includes these accounts or how active the entire user base on the site really is.

TOP SEO TIPS SEO; the three most commonly used letters within the business world that are now the difference between success and failure are ever changing and ever growing. SEO stands for search engine optimization and refers to the process in which a business optimizes its website structure, content and images with profitable keywords to achieve a desirable ranking position on the first or second page of search results. The purpose of conducting search engine optimization is so that businesses may capitalize on the millions of web users that are available on the first few pages of industry specific searches however it is no easy task. Search Engines Love Website Content

When it comes to search engine optimization (SEO) content is king! Search engines absolutely love content. Why? Well, because within content (website copy or "articles" on websites) search engines can find answers to the billions of search questions they get online. When someone is searching online for information a search engine uses algorithms to calculate the best possible answer that it can return to the person searching for information. The algorithms are complicated and it is not necessary for us to understand their intricate workings, suffice to say they work amazingly well. When an answer to an online search query is returned it is important for the search engine that it is the best possible answer they can give because they have competition hot on their trail and if one search engine (or web crawler) does not give a satisfactory answer, another will. Google, according to recent statistics, has 80% of search traffic but they still have to keep on their toes in order to stay ahead of the pack. How does a crawler establish which is the best answer to a search query and therefore, which is the best website to deliver to the searcher? The crawler does this in different ways:

• • • • • • •

By looking for unique and fresh content on the billions of pages on the internet which will match the query Checking that the content has not been plagiarised (copied) from anything on the internet to make sure it is unique Looking for relevant keywords within the content and headings Checking keywords and checking they match with content Discovering how "important" the website is because of the incoming links Following internal links within the website content Making sure the content is relevant to the website

There are other factors which determine the relevance of a website but populating your website with fresh and relevant content is one of the most important things you can do. This method ensures organic SEO. In the long run organic SEO is the best way to get traffic to your website. It is, of course, possible to pay for advertising on search engines but when you stop advertising you lose traction. With organic SEO your website will keep its ranking and you can build on that foundation to better and better ranking. According to SEO "gurus" content is king and will always remain relevant, it simply makes sense! Happy writing and may your website rank well and bring you clients.

SEO your website will keep its ranking and you can build on that foundation to better and better ranking. Copywriting for websites is about writing unique, fresh and relevant content to populate websites. The content must be search engine optimized (SEO) and this requires specialized knowledge. A good copywriter will be able to write creatively in order to engage human readers and will also be able to write for SEO so that the content, and therefore website, will be found by crawlers and delivered to the all important human readers.

Do You Need Ideas for Social Media Status Updates Social media relies on content- the creation of it, posting of it, and sharing of it. That's fine and well and good if you have a lot of time to come up with ideas, but what if it's Thursday evening and you need to come up with some updates, but your mind is completely blank? How can you come up with unique status updates that people want to read? Here are five ideas you can use: 1) What is not being said? What is the sacred cow (in Seth Godin's words)- the thing that people keep clinging to, but really shouldn't be? Is there some grit in your industry that you can speak out about? Can you shine a light on something that needs discussion and then lead the way? Often, speaking up about what needs to be said is an effective way to build your brand and get attention. You don't necessarily want to post about things you don't really care about or don't believe in, but there are times where some truth rises up that just need to be said. Why not by you? 2) What is everyone else talking about? You could, of course, simply parrot what everyone else is already saying. But what if, instead, you came up with a powerful, meaningful, but perhaps contrary opinion? This might be good exercise for your brainjust to practice adopting- and discussing- different viewpoints on the same issue. If you watch TED talks- do you agree with their premise? Why or why not? When you read top blogs in your industry- what would say the same or differently? Sharpening your own sense of critical thinking can give you new insights on core ideas and issues. 3) What are the big trends on the horizon? What do you know now that can help? As you look ahead, what is coming next? Can you be a sort of trendcaster or oracle for your community? Can you help them avoid pain and experience more success by what you know? This is the time and place to start sharing it. Very often, the knowledge that comes so easy to you- that you take for granted- is the just-in-time piece of information someone else needs to move forward. Why not share something you know that might help someone else?

If you think about the problems you help resolve, you can probably find at least 10 or 20 with ideas for status updates can sometimes be difficult. 4) What would you say if you had no fear? Of course, part of social media is a focus on getting readers, traffic, and subscribers. But, just for instance- what would you say if you had no fear? If you did not care about what people thought, what would you say? Of course, your direct selfexpression may turn people off. But were they really the right people anyway? 5) What questions do people really want answers to? In every area, there are basic questions that people want answered. They might want to know about the best digital camera to buy. Or the best way to get subscribers from their blogs. Or how to cook the perfect pie. Can you create a series of status updates from your expertise which answer questions your target client has? If you think about the problems you help resolve, you can probably find at least 10 or 20 with ideas for status updates can sometimes be difficult. Using these five strategies will make it easier when you need help. Coming up with ideas for status updates can sometimes be difficult. Managed Services In 2013 2013 is ready to start and your business model needs to change. If you have always just done break/fix then you might want to consider adding managed services to your arsenal of services. Why provide managed services: Increase customer base Guaranteed revenue Broaden your business If you have not noticed a decrease in the typical break/fix over the past year or so then you should consider your fortunate. There are many owners that have felt the pinch of the price drop of new computers and customers not willing to spend the money like they use to in order to fix their problem pc’s. I would venture to say it’s only going to get worse in the industry for those that are just surviving on the break/fix model of business. That is why now is the time to look into managed services and to beef up your service line of things you offer.

It’s easy to start a new service you just have to make sure you have everything in order and there is no better time than now to do just that. Start with your list of what services you are going to provide with your managed services: Server support Workstation support Website Maintenance Network Maintenance Monthly/Quarterly Services Once you have that detailed list then start writing up some documentation that will cover exactly what these services are and how they will benefit a business. The reason for the documentation is simple. You want to be able to provide the business owner with a document that spells out exactly what it is you are offering. You want it to be detailed but not so detailed they don’t have room for questions. The goal is to sit down with the owner and go over your services that you can provide. A careful thought out plan in the beginning will save you much time in the future.

It’s time to be the well-rounded business that can provide each and every service that a business might need. And this does not just entail managed services but website design, website maintenance, cloud services, backups and more. You really need to sit down and list out your services and see exactly what is making you a profit and what isn’t.

Also, make sure you have an idea of pricing because that is going to be asked and you want to have an answer. Do some research what others are charging? Do some research what it will cost to use some tools to provide this service. Then decide what you want to make.

Then you need to decide what other services you can provide support for and implement into your business model. If you have thought about providing managed services but are unsure what exactly it means then ask other owners. You can find most of the information on the net pertaining to what kinds of services others are providing.

Best of luck!

Don’t go half way through the year and then decide you need to do this. Start fresh in 2013 and do it right. It won’t be easy but nothing in business is but if you do your due diligence it will pay off.
