ACRBO inbox Should I offer Web Design as a service?
I think I am going to have to close our shop and go back to being a mobile repair shop. Too many months without enough business and cutting into savings is not an option.
If not but you still feel like you would like to offer that service then you need to find a person to outsource that type of thing to. I would not hand over the customer but have it be your customer and you handle the entire transaction. Pretty much like being a project manager. Dan ACRBO
Congrats…At least you did not wait until it was too late and you are entirely in debt to make that decision. Nothing wrong in going back to a mobile service or any other type of service. You know your business better than anyone and it’s your call to make..Best of luck.

HAVE FAITH IN YOUR MARKETING PLAN While small business owners agree that advertising and marketing are the two most important things to get their business noticed, many fail to find a good plan to stick to. Small business marketing can be tricky, time consuming and expensive as well. Trying many things at once and trying very few things are both very risky methods of marketing. For any good marketing plan to pay off, the owners of small businesses must be patient. Once they have come up with a good plan, if they abandon it because it hasn’t shown results immediately, it would be a waste of all of the time, resources and money spent on coming up with the marketing plan. It is important to stay focused and not look at the speed at which your marketing strategy is working. Although there have been stories of people succeeding overnight, the owners of small businesses should not feel discouraged or worried if this does not happen to them. Giving yourself time and having faith in your creation is important. It takes more than a few days, weeks or a month to gain a good footing in the market. If the owner of a small business does not find success within a few weeks, he is likely to change his marketing plan entirely and look for something else that he thinks might work. This would often be the latest hype in marketing, or something that a competing business uses. However, what is right for someone else might not be right for you and your business. Instead of completely giving up on the marketing plan of the present, owners of small businesses can keep an ear out for new marketing strategies, and incorporate parts of it into their current marketing plan. Set short term goals for your business and see if these can be achieved through your marketing plan. Do something every day that can help increase the popularity of your product and spread the word about it. The harder you work on a daily basis, the more the reward at the end. Owners of small businesses should have faith in their efforts and shouldn’t give up easily. There will be good days and bad days, and small business owners should be prepared for both of them.
Don’t just follow a passive marketing plan. Instead, make sure that the marketing plan has fixed time goals and efforts to be taken on a daily basis. All good marketing plans come with schedules, important dates and times and an expiration date. Make sure your marketing plan does not lack any one of these. Give yourself time and make sure you follow the plan as it is. If you don’t succeed at first, keep going. Eventually, the plan will pay off and you will gain more of a following and earn a better income. Give your marketing plan the time and the effort, and it will eventually pay off. Marketing plans should not be all in the head, but should be written down. Try preparing a diary or a checklist for your personal use, and see if all of the steps that were to be taken in the marketing plan have been carried out on time and with the correct degree of effort. Putting something out there and then not checking up on it, or following through with updates and improvements could make even the best marketing plan fail.
The harder you work on a daily basis, the more the reward at the end. Owners of small businesses should have faith in their efforts and shouldn’t give up easily.

Marketing Plans and Strategies
A marketing plan gives you a detailed idea of how to get to your goals and how to move on from one goal to another. If you are ever stuck, you can consult your marketing plans to know what to do next.
Marketing plans and marketing strategies are both very different things. It is important to have both of them in order to succeed in your small business. With a good marketing plan and a marketing strategy, a small business can grow in popularity and strength, and also increase the income of the owner. Getting the word out there about your business is important, and once this is achieved, it is equally important to build a loyal base of consumers and to constantly attract new consumers. This can be possible with the help of a good marketing plan and a marketing strategy. A marketing strategy answers the question ‘what’. Every small business owner has a vision for where they want to take their business and have laid out a few goals for their business in their minds. A marketing strategy helps you achieve these goals. A marketing strategy is a list of the goals and aims of the small business that can be achieved with the help of marketing techniques. Once you know where you want to take your business, you can come up with a marketing technique that would work for you. A marketing strategy should then be created to list out all of the goals that you are looking forward to achieve with the applied marketing techniques. The goals you have for your business and the goals you have for your marketing techniques, should both be listed down in your marketing technique. A marketing plan on the other hand, will help you understand how you will achieve the goals you have set for yourself through your marketing strategy. The marketing plan answers the question ‘how’. A marketing plan gives you a detailed idea of how to get to your goals and how to move on from one goal to another. If you are ever stuck, you can consult your marketing plans to know what to do next.
Most people only have a vague idea of what they want, and prepare a marketing plan trying to achieve things that they’re still not sure of entirely. If your marketing techniques only try to get you somewhere, you’re wasting your money and your time. It is important to know not only how to get there, but also where you want to go. This is why a marketing strategy and a marketing plan are both equally important. A good small business owner will always take time out to first know what he or she wants and then will try to create a plan that explains how they can get there. A strategy always involves thinking and a plan always involves doing. The three steps of marketing are creating a marketing strategy, then creating a marketing plan and then carrying out the plan. This will eventually lead you to success and in the achievement of your goals. With a clear cut marketing strategy and plan, there will be no room left for self doubt or hesitation. The small business owner will always know where to go and what to do when they get there. If there are any problems, the small business owner will always be able to identify it. This is why it is important to have a strategy and a plan for marketing your small business.

Marketing to Gain Consumers More and more small businesses have been emerging these days as people have been trying to make a better living for themselves. However, in these of recession, it is important to take every step carefully to avoid the great consequences of failure. This is why small business owners need to invest in a good plan and strategy to market their small business. The basics of marketing lies in assessing and understanding the needs and wants of the consumers, and making sure that those needs are fulfilled, so that the consumers are satisfied and do not leave. Growing your consumer base is tricky, but can be achieved through marketing. Through marketing, a small business owner can aim to gain more customers for his business. He can also sway the customers into buying more products and trying new things. He can convince them to buy products that cost more and give him more of a profit. These are the basic goals of any small business and can help increase the profits of the business greatly. The most important goal will be to increase the number of customers of a small business. It is obvious that the more the customers, the wider the scope of the profits and income of the small business. To increase customers through marketing, small business owners can try and dedicate a part of their working day to research and strategy. Owners of small businesses can of course, hire a marketing professional, but if the budget does not allow for this, they can try to come up with a good marketing plan themselves. Such small business owners should take some time aside during the day, and research a good marketing strategy and plan. Try to understand the demographic of customers that your product applies to.
See if all of the customers are paying attention to your product. Try to improve and develop the products of your small business in a way that it attracts the potential customers. Researching your customer base and their income level will also enable you to set a price for the product that is acceptable and attractive. If the consumer base is of a low income, and the price is very high, the customers are likely to ignore your product. On the other hand setting a very low price when the product is aimed for middle to high income level families will create a loss. Researching the background of the customers will also allow you to package and advertise your product in a way that it resonates with the customers and their thoughts. While marketing, make sure that your marketing plan aims the correct consumer base. Sometimes, the marketing techniques could go ignored as it doesn’t reach the people it should. Take your time to come up with a plan, and launch it to the right market. Once the message is delivered to those it should, your product is likely to have success. Don’t try to aim for the entire population. No matter what the product, it has already been determined that not everyone will go for the product. Instead, aim for the people that are most likely to go for your product. If you aim for a larger audience, even though they might not be willing to buy your product, it will be a waste of effort, time and money.
Researching your customer base and their income level will also enable you to set a price for the product that is acceptable and attractive. If the consumer base is of a low income, and the price is very high, the customers are likely to ignore your product.

SMALL BUSINESS MARKETING TECHNIQUES Businesses are determined as small businesses or large businesses by looking at the number of employees working under that company, the annual turn out, net worth, assets and sales of the company. Different countries have different standards for calling a business small or big. Big businesses and small businesses have a lot of things in common, but they have many more things that are not common between them. Marketing is one of the things that is different for big businesses and small businesses. Owners of small businesses should always keep this in mind. For one thing, the budget for marketing for small businesses is normally small and limited. A good small business marketing plan brings the increase of sales and customers through the techniques of marketing that have been applied. Through marketing you can increase your sales, and using cheap and effective marketing techniques that are more suitable for small businesses will ensure that the business has more money to spend in other areas of improvement. Interacting with customers through certain marketing techniques will increase the goodwill of the business among the customer base. An advantage of small businesses is that the owner and the employees of the business alike can communicate directly with the customers and get their feedback immediately. If you’re a small business owner with no budget whatsoever for a good marketing plan, then don’t panic. A lot of resources are available to the people out there to learn and implement new marketing techniques. Small business owners can forge good relations with their distributors and vendors and try to create an alliance where both can advertise together. The added budget for marketing will not affect your pockets, and will bring you more customers.
Don’t ignore the current customer base of your small business. It is important to win over new customers but it is also equally important to keep your existing customers from leaving. Try introducing some new plans and offers for the existing customers. Make them feel special, and try turning to them for advice on what to change and what to keep. Encourage your current customers to spread the word about your business. Another marketing method is to forge good relations with the local press or TV station. A good story on your small business and its products published in the newspaper or broadcasted on the television will definitely help boost your customer sales. Also, you can try using the social media for advertising. Not only is it free, but it has a wider reach and can make your small business seem more in touch with today’s crowd. If your small business is in a small town, suburb or city, try keeping an eye out for the latest activities that are going to take place there. If there is a show or a concert coming up, you can try to participate in it by providing your products at a discounted price. If not, you can offer to sell the tickets and spread the word about the show or concert through your business. This will help you gain recognition in turn and will also grab the attention of more kinds of customers. If a marathon or trail walk has been arranged in the locality near you, you can offer to supply free goods for the people’s comfort. This will be a good investment to attract new customers and also to spread the word about your business.
Don’t ignore the current customer base of your small business. It is important to win over new customers but it is also equally important to keep your existing customers from leaving.

3 COMMON WEBSITE ERRORS John thought things were going fairly well, but what he didn't know was costing him a substantial sum. He knew sales on his website should be higher, but he blamed that on the economy. Then one day, for no particular reason, he was going through his website and made a discovery that made his heart sink. Let's take a look at 3 common errors that people encounter on your website and what you should do about it. The fact is that even companies as large and tech savvy as Google occasionally have problems with their websites. If even Google can't ensure a glitch free experience, it's reasonable that your website will encounter its own share of gremlins. This doesn't mean that you should be OK with problems on your site those errors could be costing you money. The key is to monitor your website for the three kinds of errors that could cost you big time.
Broken Scripts Sometimes the programs and scripts that run on your website break down (500 error). There are a variety of technical reasons why can occur, but suffice it to say that this is an issue that should be watched out for on your website.
Broken Links The single most prevalent technical error on the Internet is the 404 error. In non-geek speak that is a broken link - you know the kind where you click a link to go to a page and get an error letting you know that the page can't be found. There are two kinds of these broken links that you need to be concerned about. The first is internal broken links. This frequently happens when a website is updated and some pages are removed or are moved to a different place but the links pointing to them aren't updated. This problem, undiscovered, can cost you big in lost business as people who encounter the error leave your site. The second kind of broken link is external. This is where other websites have a link to a page on your website that is no longer there. Fortunately there are lots of link checking tools that you can use to discover these problems for you. Links can be fixed by updating the link to point to the correct page location or by creating a 301 (search engine friendly) redirect.
There are two ways to watch out for this kind of error. The first is about making it really easy for someone to report the problem that they just encountered. The second is about automated monitoring of your site for this kind problem. This can be setup to give you real-time awareness of problems, or to report on any issues on a scheduled basis. Server Down Sometimes websites become unavailable because the server that they reside on is down. This is much more of an issue for some hosts than others. If this happens to your site a lot, you need to move to a different web host. All web hosts brag about their "up-time" but the devil is in the details. I have yet to see a system that couldn't fail - even fully redundant ones. The best way to keep this kind of problem from affecting your site is to make sure that your site is hosted by a great host with terrific technical support. Bad hosts account for about 95% of server down errors. There are lots of up-time-monitoring services that will monitor your website and let you know if your website goes down. This can provide powerful peace of mind and alert you to issues you should be aware of. Website errors - undetected and unaddressed - cost website owners dearly. Not only can this interfere with your prospective customers, it can interfere with your search engine ranking. This is definitely one of those situations where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. For John, the problem turned out to be broken scripts. Once the scripts were fixed, sales began to pick up. Now that he has a layered monitoring system in place, he can rest easy knowing that his site is up and running smoothly and without error.

7 SINS IN SEO COPYWRITING TO AVOID Never Publish Unworthy Content Any content that is not worth publishing should be discarded no matter what. There is no reason why any website should publish content that is not worth reading. Bad content means that you are not professional and this can reflect poorly on your business. Avoid Content That Does Not Focus On Value Content should always show the features and benefits of a product. Your readers will easily get bored if they are not seeing what is in it for them. When you add well though features and benefits expect to convert your leads into actual sales. Do Not Ignore Page Titles and Meta Descriptions For SEO purposes never ignore page titles and meta descriptions. Your first chance to convert is when you add an attractive description together with your title. When it comes to your page description, you should strategically insert your keywords. Your title should also make the most impact so that web users are compelled to click on your page. An online business opportunity MLM is not complete without the right SEO techniques. It is therefore important that you understand how can optimize your website to become Google Spiders friendly. Most copywriters think that their content is the best but it is easy to overlook loopholes in SEO writing. Here are some of the things that you should avoid when writing for your website.
Never Bore Your Clients
When it comes to an online enterprise you can never take risks with the kind of content that you publish after all content is always king. It is important to know the different possible pitfalls when it comes to copywriting. When you are able to understand these problems you will be able to avoid losing your leads and allow high conversion for your online business opportunity MLM.
Never Publish Information that is Incomplete
Avoid Stressing Over Word Count For Google Purposes Many webmasters mistakenly think that Google or other search engines require a certain number of word count. For example, 500 words or more articles will usually score higher in Google. In fact, these are not really all true, Google will fairly score websites according to its completeness. Stop Focusing on Keyword Density Another particularly common mistake that a lot of webmasters stress on is the keyword density. This is considered a myth and should be removed from all copywriting. Website owners and webmasters believe that when you have high percentage of Keyword density, Google will give you better score for ranking. With keyword density your content becomes poorly structured or redundant.
Make sure that your website will provide everything that your customers will probably need. It should be your sales page, and customers won't have to scroll too long in order to get to where they want.
Incomplete information will only encourage your visitors to click the back button and look into your competitor site. Your site should have just the right amount of information not too little and not too much. It should showcase what you have to present to your readers with all the right proportions. Being familiar with these sins will avoid websites from committing them, therefore allowing effective SEO for your website.
Content should always show the features and benefits of a product. Your readers will easily get bored if they are not seeing what is in it for them. When you add well though features and benefits expect to convert your leads into actual sales.

news 63% of Advertisers Say Brand Marketing Spending Will Increase in 2013 A recent Nielsen study has found that 63 percent of brand advertisers expect more money to be spent on brand marketing in 2013. One in five advertisers reported that spending would exceed 20 percent this year. Advertisers say that much of that spending will go to increased usage of social media, mobile advertising, and social media. Nielsen's study found that 70 percent of brand marketers will increase their usage of social media in 2013. About 69 percent also said they would use more mobile advertising this year, while an additional 64 percent said they would be increasing their usage of video advertising. In comparison, study participants say they will not be increasing usage of rich media, standard display, and connected TV advertising. About 50 percent of particpants reported their rich media advertising would stay the same in 2013. For standard display advertising, 48 percent said they would be keeping their usage the same over the next 12 months. The only category shown to have very little usage in 2013 is connected TV advertising. According to the report, 67 percent of marketers said they would not be using connected TV advertising in 2013. On the other side of the spectrum, 51 percent of advertisers said they would be increasing their direct response marketing spending in 2013. One in four advertisers reported that direct response marketing spending will increase by over 20 percent this year. Direct response marketers said they would be increasing their usage of mobile advertising at an 81 percent clip. Twitter's New Keyword Targeting System 'Vital' Tool for Marketers Twitter has unveiled a keyword targeting system to give marketers the ability to target users based on the words they tweet. The system allows for marketers to pinpoint users based on the context of the words they send out through their account. Commentators say the feature is a boon because of Twitter's ability to reach consumers in real time. "This is an important new capability - especially for those advertisers looking for signals of intent - because it lets marketers reach users at the right moment, in the right context," wrote Twitter Product Manager of Revenue Nipoon Malhotra in a blog post. Twitter's feature is a way for marketers to better discover consumers interested in specific products and services. To highlight the tool's usability, the social media firm uses the example of marketers sending out Promoted Tweets about a specific band that users are tweeting about. Prior to the launch, marketers were confined to only being able to target users based on a consumer's interest graph. The graph used things such as follows as signals for a user's interest. Commentators say the feature creates real-world marketing tactics that only Twitter could capitalize on. Laundry Service president and founder Jason Stein says the feature truly takes advantage of the constantly updating world of Twitter. "What is cool about this is that Twitter is the only platform that can really do something like this," Stein said to ClickZ. Stein says the amount of data and the periodic updating of Twitter make the new feature vital for marketers. According to him, having keyword targeting on Twitter makes the social platform one of the best marketing tools in the world. "Nothing in the world compares to Twitter. While Facebook may have the size nothing quite compares to Twitter's capabilities," continued Stein. When it comes to Twitter and Facebook, Stein says the two are very complementary for advertisers. He says one is important for visual marketing while the other focuses on text ads. "Facebook is much more visual, but with Twitter it's much more link- and textbased," said Stein. Stein and his company have already started using Twitter's targeted word feature. He reported that he has already used the tool to send out Promoted Tweets about Hollywood films. The tactic Stein is currently employing is sending out Promoted Tweets to users who send out messages about wanting to rent a movie. He says the tactic helps to pinpoint users closer to the point of purchase. Twitter's targeted ad tool is available starting immediately. The feature is available in all supported Twitter languages and markets.

Prevent ID Theft On Children With These Helpful Tips Many adults know the importance of protecting their credit and guarding their personal identification, but for children, this problem is too abstract for them to grasp. Problem is, children can also fall victim to identity criminals and having identity theft protection is also a must for the young population. The theft could go unnoticed for several years, because very few parents check their children’s credit. Usually, the only time they find out about it is when the children get denied when they are old enough to apply for credit cards or when collection agencies start to call and look for their children. Signs of identity theft can easily be spotted by responsible adults, but for children, it’s a different story. The main drivers for id theft in children include participating in financial fraud (organized crimes), getting employment or false IDs (illegal immigrants), and circumventing the effects of bad credit (family and friends).
As parents, it’s your job to learn some basics about child id theft protection and be proactive when safeguarding your child’s identity.
Red flags for child identity theft
• Keep your child’s SS number in a safe place. Just like how you keep your important documents safe, you should also learn how to maintain the safety of your child’s SS number. Take note that once stolen, SS numbers can be used to establish new credit accounts, resulting in other financial problems that can affect your child in the long run. Never put your child’s SS number in your wallet because once it gets stolen the problems can affect both you and your child’s credit status. Lock it up on a safe and try to memorize the number instead.
When trying to open a college fund or savings account for your child, you learned that there’s already an existing account with your child’s SS number being used.
When attempting to open a new account on behalf of the child, it gets denied because of a bad credit history.
Today’s highly connected and digital environment has made it easy for thieves to hack into someone else’s identity. But others still adhere to the old-fashion style of stealing someone’s identity. Here are some brilliant ways parents can do to protect their children against identity theft. • Always proceed with caution when giving out your child’s identifying information. Don’t just provide it to anyone without asking first why it’ll be needed. In most cases, your child’s information is required for verification and legitimate reasons, but it’s still necessary for parents to ask some basics – why the information is needed, for what purposes will it serve, how the information will be secured. If the organization is asking for a copy of your child’s SS number or birth certificate, ask the mode of disposal once the information is no longer needed. Simply put, don’t be afraid to ask some important questions before you allow your child’s information to be used.
There are pre-approved credit card offers (with your child’s name in it) that arrive in mail.
• For those school-aged or high-school children, start teaching the value of privacy. Emphasize the need to be cautious when sharing information online or giving out their personal details to anyone without checking first with their parents.
Checks, bills, and bank statements in the name of your child are sent in mails.
Joey Mali
A teenager gets denied of his/her driver’s license application, because there’s already someone who opened up a license with the teenager’s SS number.
Or worse, there is an outstanding warrant for the arrest of the child for crimes committed by another person.
Joy is an active blogger who is fond of sharing interesting finance related articles to encourage people to manage and protect their finances. She also covers topics on secured credit cards and personal loan for bad credit which might have resulted due to identity theft.
