MEDIA RELEASE 27 March 2015

Specialist Gas engineering company, CNG Services, appoints Bob Boden as business development director

CNG Services, which has pioneered the development of biomethane to grid connections in the UK, has appointed Bob Boden as business development director.

With over 30 years’ experience of the gas industry, having held senior roles at Transco, BG and Jacobs UK, Boden will be responsible for growing CNG Services business in biomethane to grid, onshore gas and the development of new CNG filling stations.

Boden says: “I can say with some sincerity that I’m really excited about being able to be part of the CNG team and play a part in developing the UK’s fastest growing gas consultancy and delivery businesses. CNG is demonstrably leading the market; building on this expertise is what I’m going to focus on.”

John Baldwin, managing director and founder of CNG Services comments: “With the biomethane to grid business growing fast, barriers to the growth of NGV for trucks being removed and the shale gas industry investing in the UK, we really need people of Bob’s calibre, and crucially, with his extensive experience of the gas industry. His role is a key one for us and we need his industry knowledge and practical experience to help us to grow.”

Boden was part of the Transco Network Development Team responsible for developing policies and procedures for NTS connections. After that he was responsible for the business development of a new BG Business unit in the ‘unregulated’ market, which focused on connecting new customers to the gas grid. He then went on to work for United Utilities in 2005 as Regional Manager responsible for ‘out of area’ connections for the West Midlands, Wales and the South West of England. Bob has also held senior roles with Mouchel Pakman as senior project manager, Mouchel Energy as commercial and business development Director, part of the Energy Management team and divisional director at Jacobs UK as head of gas delivery.

Bob Boden is an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the Engineering Council and a Member of the Institution of Gas Engineers (MIGEM).
