We are here to supply invigorating, lifeaffirming and accessible opportunities for young people and adults of all walks of life; our history, our aspiration, our future. Most importantly, Aberdeen, we are here for you.
Yours... The Community’s... Aberdeen’s… The team at 33 King Street are pleased to announce that our beautiful venue will now be known officially as Aberdeen Arts Centre once again, with immediate effect. Our history is in our name. Our aspiration is in our name. Our future is in our name. We Are The Arts Centre. We are here to collaborate and engage with all of Aberdeen’s thriving local performance companies and businesses: they are our history, our aspiration and most importantly, our future.
We always have been: YOUR history, YOUR aspiration and YOUR future. YOUR Arts Centre must bid to be the best. To this end, we’re delighted to present this forthcoming season of performances, events and productions in Drama, Musical Theatre, Comedy, Art - and a soon-tobe reinvigorated youth arts programme. We’ve returned to our original name, and we’re rolling out a new identity - in this guide, across our internal and external signage and a new website soon. We hope you like the improvements we’re making - we’d love to hear what you think! Without the support and input from the people of Aberdeen, we’d cease to exist - that’s why we’re here. We’ll see you soon! Aberdeen Arts Centre

Is it still a relevant and true source of information, or has it been diminished in terms of its synergy. WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
At the core of my work lies an interest in the figure and its use to discuss the ambiguity of identity and narrative. Each painting becomes a space for exploration of colour and form while conceptually issues range from sexuality, politics, travel, food, love and religion. Amendments, doubt and failure are key within the making of the work, with paint being applied and removed in equal measure; these traces are subsequently left visible for reflection.
