2ND-25TH NOV Katie H. Watson presents

IN A GARDEN, IN A WOOD Gray’s School of Art graduate Katie H. Watson will transform the ACT gallery into woodland with a series of textured paintings that form a continuous, mysterious landscape. ‘In a garden, in a wood’ is a tribute to a mural from the main hall in Livia’s Villa, near Rome, one of Katie’s favourite artworks. Katie is a selected artist for the RSW Winter Exhibition and Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries Exhibition 2017.

LINES TO PAINT We are Melpomeni Irakleous, Charlotte Johnston, Toni Harrower and Paolo Doyle, four new graduates from the painting department of Gray’s School of Art. Our styles are disparate but our outlooks are similar. Starting with a single poem about the North-East, this project focuses on highlighting the versatility of paint. We are curious about how painting can communicate the same initial concept but be expressed in a variety of ways.

30TH NOV-21ST DEC Izzy Thomson presents

THE SHAPE OF A MOUNTAIN Through an odd coherence of slow and fast time in both painting and the acts of denudation (how the mountain dissolves), I wish to quietly remind viewers of the similarities between the mountain’s timescale and ours.
