WHO IS A JAYWALKER?
ALUMNI COMMUNITY
Many men who come to Jaywalker have tried different treatment programs, or have tried on their own to stay sober and have been unable to sustain abstinence. Prior to admission, all candidates are interviewed to determine the appropriate level of care.
Jaywalker has a thriving alumni community that stays involved through expeditions, activities, networking opportunities and alumni events. Weekly dinners, aftercare meetings and volunteer opportunities keep our alumni connected and engaged.
Jaywalker men must be: •
Sober and stable from acute withdrawal
•
Adventurous in spirit
•
Willing and motivated to recover
WE VIEW RECOVERY AS A PROMISE OF OUR FUTURE. NOT A CONSEQUENCE OF OUR PAST.
FAMILY PROGRAM We want families to become a part of our Jaywalker family. The Jaywalker Lodge family program allows family members to join their loved ones on a parallel journey of self-discovery. Every six weeks we offer a comprehensive, four-day family program at no cost to our clients that allows them to reconnect in a supportive environment.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE
Treatment isn’t the end, but the beginning of real happiness. We provide a nurturing environment for meaningful growth, and helping men find their passion and goals is at the core of our process.
Developing passion for life in recovery is essential. None of our men got sober to miss out on life. Jaywalker programing emphasizes daily recreational activities, including at least two 4-day expeditions during each client’s 12-week stay.

Jaywalker’s clinical program focuses on the first step of Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous: we are powerless over alcohol and drugs and our lives have become unmanageable. We follow a bio-psycho-social model of treatment to confront addiction and build hope for the future. Biological – encouraging exercise and connection to fun without substance use through outdoor activity Psychological – master’s-level therapists, medical director, behavior techs, and spiritual, art, and equine programs to combat the disease from all angles. Daily activities include didactic presentations, group therapy and written step work Social – small-town community involvement reinforces first-step focus, and an uncommonly tight-knit alumni community provides ongoing comradery
