Practical Skills for Bright Futures

VOCATIONAL PATHWAY

Practical skills

I believe mainstream schools should consider ACT as a valuable alternative for pupils who thrive in a more hands-on, practical learning environment or struggle in traditional settings. We offer a personalised experience that helps pupils develop both skills and confidence.

At ACT Hadfield Road, we offer a tailored vocational provision designed specifically for Year 10 and 11 pupils who want to develop practical skills. Our unique learning environment focuses on hands-on training and personal growth, helping pupils build confidence and gain real-world abilities. We emphasise practical learning, with courses in areas such as construction and hairdressing, preparing pupils for successful future careers.

What We Offer Schools

We provide City & Guilds accredited Level 1 courses at both award and certificate levels. Each course runs for a full day throughout the academic year, with small class sizes (7 pupils per 2 staff, including an HLTA) to ensure personalised support in both practical and theory-based learning.

Courses can be taken one or two days per week, depending on your school’s needs. We also offer a bespoke two-day programme, with different vocational routes on separate days.
