It is more essential than ever that those responsible for education in their organisations integrate digital technology into their respective learning environments. Therefore, it is vital that staff are able to embrace and implement electronic media, educational technology and web-based learning to support their pupils’ education or colleagues’ progression, and integrate these digital methods with more traditional approaches.
This new Apprenticeship has been developed to create a workforce of digital educators who can work across the education and training sector to design, develop and implement strategies and content for digital learning.
You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to create effective and inclusive digital content across different specialisms, such as pedagogy or theories of learning and development, technical knowledge and skills, creative knowledge and skills, as well as communication, digital skills and other transferable skills.
This Apprenticeship is aimed at those who are employed in the education or L&D sector, such as Teachers, Lecturers, Development Managers, Human Resources Officers, Assessors, Trainers, Teaching Assistants and wish to improve their digital learning design skills.
Our qualification has been developed to enhance the digital skills of those looking to become digital designers or digital facilitators, or those who wish to move into the education or development sectors.
The recommended time to complete the Apprenticeship framework is 18 months.

This programme will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions and workshops with a member of the ACT delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions.
An ACT assessor will visit you, either faceto-face at your workplace or remotely, once a month for approximately two hours to support progress. In addition to this, learners will also be set approximately 4 hours worth of work to complete between each visit.

We run a series of workshops that will help develop the knowledge and skills needed for your programme. These workshops are delivered using a mix of face-to-face and online sessions.
At these workshops the learners will gain the knowledge and skills required to create effective and inclusive digital content across different specialisms, in line with their organisation’s strategy for delivering learning.
You will be given the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of digital tools that can be used in your delivery environment. We will focus on software such as Canva, Nearpod, Powtoon and Book creator.
Learn about project management and user experience design. During this workshop you’ll sample a range of digital tools such as Wakelet, Padlet, Quiz in Nearpod, QR codes, Canva, IDEA and Quizizz.
Explore different teaching methodologies such as active learning and constructivism and investigate different learning models such as blended learning and the five stage model. We will look at how you can apply these theories to your digital learning environment.
Learn about the latest tech that you can use to immerse your learners in their learning. You will have the opportunity to try out new technologies, explore Virtual Reality technologies, including VR headsets, YouTube 360, ARLoopa, Cardboard VR, Google Arts and Culture and many more.
In addition to the workshops above, you will have access to learner-led, bite-size digital sessions on a variety of digital tools and techniques.
