2019 ACUI REGION II CONFERENCE REFLECTION “I loved the experience of attending the ACUI conference at the University of Arkansas this past month. Before going to the conference, I had no idea about the amount of work that the universities go through behind the scenes when it comes to putting on campus-wide events. Attending this conference gave me the chance to learn more about what resources are available for students to create fun activities in big and small spaces around campus. Connecting with students from other universities to exchange ideas about what works for their community helped me think outside the box when it comes down to community involvement. I learned about upcoming innovative ways to attract more of an audience from research other universities obtained. I also learned about ways campuses address social justice issues, the different ways assessments could be gathered and analyzed to craft more inclusive events in the future, and obtained a detailed spreadsheet that will help organize event planning details in the future.” Alex Reyes, University of Texas at Austin

HIGHLIGHT THIS! We love to highlight the various events and activities our members are doing across the region! At the beginning of the semester, Truman State University’s Student Activities Board hosted an event called Anything is Popsicle where students could write a goal they want to accomplish prior to graduating on our giant chalkboard wall and get a popsicle to enjoy the beginning of the semester. Additionally, students had the opportunity to tie dye shirts at the event. Congratulations on a great event!
