PRESENTING : A [STUDENT] ARCHITECT ABROAD As I walked up to the check out counter for yet another time, fingers crossed that my luggage was under the 30kg limit [which it was not - 45kg!] and checking for the tenth time my passport was in my pocket, I prepared myself to return back to SYDNEY once again. What a year it was, working in COPENHAGEN, DENMARK at NORD Architects and seeing the best of what the NORTH could offer. I guess before embarking on this journey of architecture back in 2011, I did not know how much opportunity and exposure to the world this disclipline would offer me. Architecture - a global community. To be honest – choosing architecture was spontanious - I basically chose it because it sounded cool and I was watching How I Met Your Mother at the time - oh Ted Mosby. From going to the STATES to meet the famous starchitect Frank Gehry - to studying at the world renowned TU Delft, NETHERLANDS, travelling has been the most enjoyable and personal line of learning since the start of my course. It is indeed true that you do not understand the building until you feel, touch and smell it. The collection of photographs intrically expresses various moments of my travels over the 5 years since studying design and architecture. Varying in themes, they express the different stages of my journey. They capture the didatic intimacy, personality and unique stories in which I developed during my travels, mirroring the surrounding environment as seen through my lens and attitudes.
