WOCHIT VIDEO The News and Advertising Sales Teams at 12 APG sites are part of the first wave of the Wochit video rollout. The new video solution will help our sales teams offer a sophisticated video product for their clients, and will allow newsrooms to add a video layer to their

multimedia storytelling on site and on social media platforms. The 12 sites include: Bozeman, Boise, Pocatello, and Skagit in the West division; Janesville, Eau Claire, Mesabi and Owatonna in Central; and Chesapeake, Sun Coast Media Group, Athens and Greeneville (TN).

Our internal, full-service digital agency continues to assist APG markets in growing their revenue and portfolio of solutions for businesses of all sizes. HRA spent the first few weeks of the year helping the Sun Coast Media Group, Chesapeake & Tennessee/North Carolina properties in their pursuit of $300,000+ in Q1 revenue initiatives. EYE ON RETENTION APG circulation departments automate subscriber touch points to enhance customer engagement. These touch points include at least 12 emails from a welcome letter and activating your digital, to subscription expiration reminders. In addition to emails, automated phone calls and direct mail are deployed. In 2020, we sent more than 5 million emails and more than 4 million phone call engagement messages to our subscribers (an average of 20 touch points per subscriber).

DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION PROJECT One of APG’s top priorities this year is growing the digital subscriber base across the company. All sites are taking steps to build audiences, but six pilot sites will be testing new tools, processes and strategies that will allow us to measure performance quickly

and move success and lessons learned to the broader field. The six pilot sites include: Bozeman, Boise, Janesville, Eau Claire, Chesapeake and Port Charlotte. Senior editors and other directors at these sites started meeting this month with APG corporate staff to roll out the pilot project. Meetings with staff at each of the six sites are ongoing.
