The Grid
For the cover and contents pages, the grid system imposed is a 8 column modular grid. The grid is an imperative part to sustaining a continuing template across all issues. Without it the magazine would have no structure. The rest of the sections of the maagazine adopt a 6 column modular grid. As well as being aware of how to use the grid you must pay close attention to the margins, and gutters which have been set to the same values for all sections.

The 6 column grid is used for most of the magazine. All the articles featured within the magazine use this grid system. The margins allow extra space for the footer (21mm), containing the page numbers and information, and the rest of the margins measure 15 mm. This means the gutter is 30 mm which is needed due to the way the magazine is bound (For more information on binding and paper stocks see the production publication).
