What cement should I use and when? Full-Day Workshop BRIEF Current materials such as dental ceramics, have enabled clinicians to practice more conservatively and to provide more aesthetically pleasing restorations than ever before. With their growing use, not only do we have more and more data supporting their role in modern dentistry, but this same data also gives us insight into the factors that make or “break” these restorations and show us that they can be temperamental. One such factor that has been shown to be key to success or failure when using current materials, is the cementation protocol. After our tireless efforts in preparation, impressing and fabricating our ceramic restorations, the final and arguably most important step, is also our last opportunity to either stuff it all up or nail it! Having the practical and scientific knowledge to enable successful cementation has the potential to make your restorative dentistry predictable – something that we all want in our day to day practice.
