ADVERTISING

1.1

The annual review of Newsletter shell advertising rates shall be carried out by the Branch office and reported to Executive Committee.

1.2

The Newsletter Editor (Vice President), the Chief Executive Officer and the President collectively, shall be delegated responsibility for approval of nonmember, non-affiliated educational advertisements for publication in the Branch Newsletter.

1.3

In determining the suitability of advertisements for inclusion in the Branch Newsletter the following tests must be used: • the notion of implied Branch endorsement of advertisements in the Branch Newsletter be recognised • Advertising of advisory or consulting services directly competing with the Branch will not be accepted

1.4

Professional advertisements or notices from non-member dentists regarding their services and practice will not be accepted for publication in the Branch Newsletter.

2.

EDITORIAL COPY

2.1

Committees seeking articles for publication in the Branch Newsletter should obtain them from Members unless such expertise is clearly not available from within the membership.

2.2

The Newsletter Editor shall be delegated responsibility to approve editorial material from organisations competing with Branch approved suppliers/providers for publication in the Branch Newsletter.

2.3

The Newsletter Editor shall be delegated responsibility to approve articles and inserts that request donations from Members for publication and/or distribution in the Branch Newsletter.

2.4

Articles will not be accepted for publication if they are promoting the organisation concerned, recruitment of membership, and/or a forthcoming activity or event. Such information is only acceptable as an advertisement.

2.5

Articles from affiliated societies and other dentist organisations that report on special events or awards to Members that would be interest to all Members, should be encouraged.

3.

ETHICS CASES

3.1

That reports of Ethics cases involving ADAVB members be published in the Branch Newsletter.

3.2

That the report is to include the breaches and penalties for educative purposes, but not name the member concerned.

4.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

4.1

Branch Newsletter subscriptions shall be available to dental industry groups and other interested parties, but not to non-member dentists, at a premium rate. Approval of who is eligible for such subscriptions shall be in accordance with 1.2 above.

5.

BRANCH COMMUNICATIONS ABOUT BRANCH EVENTS

5.1

The Newsletter Editor or CEO shall review any Branch communication about a Branch event, whether or not it is included in the Newsletter. Branch Policy Statement Number
