Your Defence Systems against Cyber‐a ack Garry Pearson was CEO of the ADAVB from 1991‐2017. With a special interest in eHealth and dental informa cs, Garry has presented to both Victorian and na onal audiences on cyber‐risk and IT security. Garry will provide prac ce managers with a 45 minute presenta on on the informa on security measures required in dental prac ces. The second half of this seminar will be an interac ve workshop facilitated by Prac ce Plus consultants, Teresa Davine and Sharon McMillan.

Garry was CEO of the Australian Dental Associa on Victorian Branch Inc. (ADAVB) from 1991 ‐ 2017, where his responsibili es included policy analysis, submissions and advocacy; managing a team of 21 staff; providing policy and governance advice to ADAVB Council and commi ees; provision of services for over 3800 den st members – including Prac ce Plus support; representa onal and health promo on work; coordina on of educa onal programs; publishing ac vi es; and overseeing the ADAVB Den st Indemnity Scheme.
With a special interest in eHealth and dental informa cs, Garry has presented to both Victorian and Na onal audiences on cyber‐risk and IT security measures required in dental prac ces. He also ini ated the ADAVB Dental Cyber Liability and Privacy Protec on Insurance Policy (underwri en by Dual).
While Garry concluded his CEO du es at the ADAVB in early July a er 26 years of service, he remains a consultant to the Federal ADA’s Dental Informa cs and Digital Health Commi ee, and an Ambassador for the eviDent Founda on, suppor ng dental prac ce‐based research.
