Mi-tec Medical Publishing produces high quality and extensively peer reviewed patient education publications for over 24 colleges, societies and associations including the Australian Dental Association. The presentation will discuss how patient education pamphlets can be used to promote positive communication with patients, as well as assist risk management and the informed consent process.
Sharon McMillan, Practice Plus Consultant
Sharon is a former Economics and Business Management Teacher and has a Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum Development and a Diploma of Quality Auditing. She has worked as a Practice Manager for the past eighteen years in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice based on the Mornington Peninsula, where she is responsible for establishing the administrative processes and for monitoring its growth and development. Sharon has assisted many ADAVB member practices become accredited and regularly presents to members at workshops and dental group meetings.
Susan Fetherston, Director Mi-tec Medical Publishing
Susan has been a Director of Mi-tec Medical Publishing since 1991 and Director of Mi-tec’s philanthropic projects. Susan has an extensive Social Work background, working in educational and counselling roles. Susan worked with indigenous communities in remote and rural locations, specialising in teaching, early education and adolescent projects. In addition to her role at Mi-tec, Susan currently works in an honorary capacity with several boards and charities within Australia and overseas.
