KINDERHOOK — The investigation into the alleged assault that took place at the home of ClubLife Gym & Fitness Center owner Alex Rosenstrach and his wife, Deputy Sheriff Kelly Rosenstrach, continues as signs in support of the victim disappear from lawns around the area. Signs calling for justice for the victim of the alleged assault, who has not been named by investigators, have appeared around Kinderhook since the Fourth of July incident. But on Tuesday the sign
maker said some of the signs have been taken down. A white Dodge Durango and a black GMC Denali were seen stopping to remove the signs, said Misty Brew-Kusewich, who created 50 lawn signs in support of the victim after hearing about the alleged Fourth of July assault. The signs are intended to encourage people to speak up and bring awareness to the incident, Brew-Kusewich said. “This is not about [the victim], this is about the community,” she said. In addition to the 50 lawn signs, Brew-Kusewich has

KINDERHOOK — Some Black Lives Matter protesters are pressing charges against a man and a woman in Kinderhook who allegedly waved a handgun during a march last Saturday, Troop K public information officer Aaron Hicks said Tuesday. Police investigators met with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office to take signed depositions from an unknown number of witnesses, Hicks said. State police also intensified their appeal for information from the public as they continue to investigate what they are calling a disturbance at the Black Lives Matter protest in Kinderhook on Saturday, Hicks said Tuesday. During a march through the village of Kinderhook, at about 4:15 p.m., protesters alleged that a man and a woman on Rothermel Lane started a verbal argument with them while armed with a handgun, Hicks said, but he did not know what started the argument. State police, who were acting as an escort for the protesters at the beginning and the end of the march, were on the scene quickly. A review of the digital evidence and interviews police conducted with the man, the woman and the protesters that were on the scene, is ongoing, Hicks said. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon, Hicks said. Following the incident Saturday, the unidentified man and woman were taken to the Kinderhook state police station for questioning. Hicks said he was not aware if the man and woman have a permit to own a handgun. Kinderhook Village Mayor Jim Dunham said Tuesday in a statement that police are conducting a detailed investigation. “I want to assure the public

State officials are meeting travelers who arrive in New York to ensure they selfisolate for two weeks as Gov. Andrew Cuomo expanded the quarantine order to four additional states Tuesday. New York’s order was expanded Tuesday to require visitors from 23 states to selfisolate for two weeks, adding Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio and Wisconsin to the list. Cuomo and Govs. Phil Murphy, D-N.J.; and Ned Lamont, D-Conn., imposed a tri-state order at midnight June 25 mandating a 14-day self-quarantine for travelers who arrive in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut from states with more than a 10% positive coronavirus test rate, or a positive test rating higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a seven-day average. Weekly calculations are completed Monday nights and the list is updated Tuesday morning. The virus continues to spread in 39 states and Puerto Rico with 61,492 new cases Monday nationwide. Visitors are required to self-isolate for two weeks when they arrive in New York from 23 states across
