It was initiated in 2008 by the ECF named after the foundation’s former President Princess Margriet who has shown enormous dedication to culture as a means of understanding and valuing Europe’s diversity. It was established in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Princess Margriet Francisca of the Netherlands is the third daughter of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and a younger sister of the current monarch, Queen Beatrix.

The Egg welcomes Barroso, Van Rompuy, Hooverphonic & many more. Some of the interesting events that took place @ The Egg Brussels brought us some special visitors. The Egg is well known with the European Commission and at various occasions President Barroso and the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy visited The Egg Brussels. Other politicians from Open VLD as well as Groen attended happenings at The Egg. More artistic were concerts of Hooverphonic and the ever presence of La Comédie de Bruxelles.
