For more than 25 years we have been selling registered red angus bulls and again this year we will be offering them private treaty right on the ranch. Our program and philosophy hasn’t changed over the years, we want to offer a set of bulls that goes out and works for you just as our cowherd has worked for us. We are a family run outfit with a lot of young help around and we are real particular on temperament, soundness of feet and udders, and health. These cattle are all born and developed here right on the ranch.

We are aggressive at providing you with the breed leading genetics and focus on what has worked for us and our customers in the past. We use EPDs, numbers, and data as a tool but they still have to be GOOD and backed by a strong cow family.

The Sandy Willow focus has always been the customer and we take a lot of pride in being able to help you one way or another on your sale day.

GUIDELINES

We will continue to offer new genetics that compliment our cowherd and will help keep you in the lead! We have always been committed to service after the sale and love making your “Sale Day” successful when you sell the progeny out of our bulls. We have always said “There is way more to selling bulls than just selling bulls.” We are consistently placing your calves, bred cattle, and even weigh up cows into our customers hands that we have developed relationships with in the past 20+ years in the livestock marketing business.

GUARANTEE

Every bull will be semen checked and evaluated by Dr. Nate Illiff of Sisseton Vet Clinic prior to delivery. The bulls are guaranteed to be good breeders, and will completely stand behind them if taken care of properly. Again, we want your cows bred and will work with you. We have stood behind these bulls for 20+ years and will continue to do so.

SEMEN INTEREST

Sandy Willow Red Angus will be retaining 50% semen interest in all sale bulls.

VACCINATIONS & HEALTH

All Bulls Have Received:

• Birth: Alpha 7 w/A and vitamin A, D, E

• Grass time: Vision 7 somnus, triangle 5, ONCE pmH, and pinkeye shot

• September: Vision 7 somnus, prism 5, ONCE pmH, valbazen wormer

• Boostered At Weaning: Vision 7 somnus, pyramid 5, and poured with cydectin

• Semen Test: virasheild 6 FP VL5, pinkeye shot, poured & wormed, and magnet

BID OPTIONS

Any bull with a bid option by the price will be available if you would like to raise the bid. We do this on a select few herd bull candidates just to give everyone an opportunity on that bull. We don’t drag this process out but it does work well if two parties are interested in a certain bull.

DELIVERY

We will continue to develop these bulls until near May 1st with no extra cost and when they are semen tested we will deliver free of charge up to 300 miles and will assist the best we can above that. We have never handed anyone a trucking bill at delivery.

When selecting the first bull to lead off the catelog we always want to start with one of the most balanced- complete bulls in the pen. Willow 8 Ball 1917 is as solid as we can make one in terms of pedigree, weights, phenotype, and edp profile. He is out of a high producing Legend daughter that had a sale topper last year on her first try and being sired by the hot new 8 ball sire this should be as good of herd bull prospect as we can offer.

Where do I start with this calf? Franchise X Legend, it’s just hard to fault. We have raised some awful good Franchise calves, and this is definitely close to the top if not the top one. Phenotype, Numbers, and EPDs. He has it all. A BIG rear end and smooth head and shoulder. You can’t make them any better! He is The Dude in the pen. Everyone sees him and he knows it. American Made was our pick and the leadoff bull in the 2020 Pieper Red Angus Sale. He could be on of the best on of a kind sons to date. We are excited with what we have seen in his first calf crop, as he stamps them all with bone, body length and width, and that signature rear quarter you won’t find anywhere else in the breed. We bought him for his power and maternal side, but he has really rang the bell for consistent calving ease. His dam, Bieber Tilly 399W, has also produced a breed great, Bieber Rolling Deep, so the best part may be yet to come. His first sons sold last year here and at Piepers. PIE Franchise 8025 was our pick of the 2019 Pieper Red Angus Sale. He had as much power and mass as any Franchise son that day while still traveling like a cat. He is a super footed, easy fleshing, calving ease sire that stays in great condition all year long. We have used him as cleanup the first two seasons but this year he got a select set of cows, so look forward to see a lot of good things from this herd sire.
