PRESCHOOL–YR 4
PRESENTED BY TILKIN-DILKIN STUDIO, IMADUCATION INC. THEATRE NSW The team of Tilkin-Dilkin Studio, will take kids on a toy's journey of discovery. With original songs and score, this fun and quirky show will make you wonder and laugh, and will definitely have you tapping along to the music! In this new adaptation of a children’s timeless story, 'The Velveteen Rabbit or How Toys Become Real' by Margery Williams, two performers will take the kids on a toy's journey of learning about friendship, love, loss and discovering what it truly means to be real! We can all recall that one special toy which, even in adulthood, puts a smile on our face when we think of it, and this story is about such a toy. During the show the kids will hear original songs and music, specifically written for this production, and will see projections of animated images which make part of the storyline. Real toys are used to enhance the world of the Velveteen Rabbit and to connect the kids with the story on a deeper level. The main themes of the story are friendship, love, loss and meaning of being 'real' or self-identity - could be explained as reaching your full potential, feeling like or becoming 'yourself', inside and out. PRESENTED BY CRISTINA LARK SKETCH COMEDY UK You have goals, plans, a brilliant future ahead. But you also have Candy Crush, Facebook, and 1,035 unread emails that you decided now is a good time to sort. Welcome to Cristina’s brain, an entity of its own, with its own will, who’s convinced that the concept of time is an illusion and that it’s suddenly a great moment to read about it online. Artist Talk: A talk (or Q&A) about procrastination, its consequences, and how to beat it. The inspiration and material for the show were drawn from my own experience, interviews with people of different age ranges and professions (including students), and research including texts and TED talks. Workshop: Having experience running creative workshops for children and teenagers, I'm offering a theme-specific workshop where the students collectively devise theatrical work from issues in the show that generate discussion and resonate with them: deadlines, leaving everything until the last minute, procrastination, its causes and consequences, and exploration of 2 different futures: one where you plan ahead and distribute your workload, being responsible, and the other, where you let chaos and panic take control of your life. The students create from stimulating premises, work in groups, present their work, and discuss about their and the other group's presentation in the end. - Bookings Essential YEP! PRICE: $ 25 YEP! NOSFERATU - A SYMPHONY OF HORROR YR 9–YR 12 PRESENTED BY TESS SAID SO MUSIC ACT/VIC See this iconic silent movie as it was originally intended - with live music. After sell out performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, modern classical duo Tess Said So returns to Adelaide to perform their award winning film score to the landmark ‘Nosferatu’ (1922). One piano player. One percussionist. And a vampire!! Film music affects the mood, narrative and even the interpretation of a screenplay in ways that are not always immediately obvious in modern movies. Using piano, electronics and a massive labyrinth of percussion, Tess Said So’s new and completely original score to 1922’s 'Nosferatu' will illustrate the power music has to profoundly influence a film’s story. PRESENTED BY JOANNE HARTSTONE & NIGHTINGALE PRODUCTIONS UK Phoebe discovers she's pregnant again after a miscarriage and wants to talk. A fresh, frank new solo-show about big decisions, bad advice, and making it up as you go along. "Sensitive and well-observed piece with a sharp, contemporary sense of humour, fully deserving of the emotional response it earns for its subject matter." The Scotsman. Carried Away is a lot about celebrating being female, which is a really positive outlook to instill in young people today. Most importantly we want to raise awareness about miscarriages and educate young people about them to distill the taboo that seems to surround them. It's about making big decisions, how it is okay to make mistakes and that it is important to talk about your problems. @nightingaleprod. YEP! PRICE: $13 Group discounts available.
