Welcomes

It is a huge honour to be Adelaide Fringe’s Access and Inclusion Coordinator for the 2020 festival, combining two of my greatest passions: the arts and advocating for equality.

| FringeTIX: 1300 621 255 adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix

This year, Adelaide Fringe is turning 60 and this is a great opportunity to reflect on and celebrate how far access and disability rights more broadly have come in the last 60 years, as well as acknowledging how far we have to go. I’m pleased that this year Adelaide Fringe is continuing its partnerships with both Deaf Can:Do and Royal Society for the Blind to provide accessible performances to blind and Deaf audience members. This year we also continue our Access Champions program, with an even higher number of specially trained volunteers to help provide access information and assistance than last year. It’s also great to implement a number of new measures in 2020, including an Easy English version of this access guide, easier access to some outdoor venues, a tier system for accessible venues, and more. To find out more about our new Venue Access Tier System, please visit the Accessibility page on our website at adelaidefringe.com.au/access. Thanks to all the organisations and especially the disabled people who worked with me and informed my work this year. Nothing about us without us! Of course, there is still a lot to be done and I look forward to seeing Adelaide Fringe become more accessible year after year. Happy Fringe! Kelly Vincent Access and Inclusion Coordinator, Adelaide Fringe
