Besides prosperity and good results for children, finding love and marriage prospects is also another popular reason for people turning to feng shui. Some clients who have become friends over time, often confide in me about their fears and issues. I find that confidence and fear of being alone often affect their judgement and also the way they conduct themselves in a relationship. I just wish to give everyone a mid-week reminder to first of all love yourself. You will find that once you know what you deserve, you will attract someone who deserves you. :)

If you can choose your seat at work, try to avoid a position where you have to sit facing a wall as it represents facing an obstacle to your prospects and ability to be forward-thinking. On the other hand, sitting with your back against a solid wall is generally considered good fengshui at work.

Good morning, my friends. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Thought I'd send you just a casual reminder about making good use of your time (especially for those of you who want to achieve big things.. :) ) and to wish you a GREAT WEEK AHEAD!

TGIF, everyone. I am pretty old school when it comes to certain things. One of them is reading. I still love print. I find that when i read print, i tend to slow down and absorb the words better. I recently picked this book and absolutely love it. Written by a Korean Buddhist monk, it tells us about the various aspects of life that we tend to overlook, such as relationships, rest and spirituality. And the content is presented in a bite-sized format. If you feel like taking time out for yourself this weekend, i recommend this book, or any other genre that better tickles your fancy and allows you to retreat into your own world. ‫ ق‬Have a great weekend.

In order to achieve your goals, you need to have enthusiasm and motivation to get started. But what will see you to the finishing line is consistency. Success is a result of commitment to a journey.

In classical feng shui, there’s a concept called Bright Hall. If you are looking for an apartment, this means the lift lobby that leads to your home must be naturally lit and unobstructed. You must also make sure your main door is positioned such that it can receive the right flow of energy going into your house. Some people have to make adjustments to the positioning of the door to facilitate the right flow of energy. However, knowing how much to adjust is not easy. I certainly won't recommend DIY feng shui for this. Positioning your door wrongly might have detrimental effects. When in doubt, seek professional help.

Good morning, everyone. Here comes a new week! Let's make full use of it with actions that further our goals! Have a great week!

A light-filled bedroom may look larger and more refreshing to the senses in the day. But come nightfall, it should transform into a place of rest with quieter, more yin energy. A client couldn't figure out why her sleep was fitful and not deep. I found that her bedroom was a corner unit framed by large windows on two sides. Her apartment block also faces a busy road. Even at night, it's quite bright in her room because of the street lights and one can hear traffic noise. Her blinds were too thin to block out the strong yang energy from these. I suggested to her to invest in thick, heavy blackout curtains which she would put down before sleeping. Her rest has improved since then.

Good morning, everyone. Happy mid-week. Do you find that you are always short of time yet never able to complete half the things you set out to do? Perhaps it's time to be realistic and just focus on the things that really matter. Make a list of your priorities - according to what you really need in life and what makes you happy. Just focus on the priorities. Get them covered and you will find that the ones you don't get to complete won't bother you.

Some people love bedrooms with slanted ceilings because they think they give a creative twist to the design. But from a feng shui perspective, they are really not ideal. A slanted ceiling causes the energy flow in the room to be imbalanced, disrupting the quality of your rest.

One way is to set yourself deadlines and just do it. if you overthink the issue, you will always get stuck at the beginning or even before you start. Set deadlines and just move along. Flowers are good for boosting energy flow at home as they are a life force. but you must remember to remove and throw them away when they wither and die, as the energy becomes negative then. Do remember to change the water of the vase frequently as well as you don't want to be breeding mosquitoes.

Happy mid-week, peeps! Sometimes the secret to happiness is very simple. :)

i can never get tired of repeating this one a lot of people just don't remember. Make it habit to keep your toilet lid down, as you make it a habit to flush after using! The strong flushing action represents a downward energy pulling your luck downwards. Put the toilet lid down when you flush the toilet and leave it shut when it's not in use.

Many people have the wrong idea about feng shui. I often get asked if this or that problem will go away if they buy this or that cure! Besides the fact that these items cost a lot (Some get asked to buy things made out of precious or semi-precious stones or involve elaborate craftsmanship), they are actually not necessary to improve feng shui. Fixing your house's feng shui is not about getting a shopping list! Feng shui is a study of the flow of feng shui, and applying it means understanding how to balance energies, facilitate and harness the positive, and also to suppress what's not desirable.

How often have you reacted in anger, only to regret what you said or did? Anger often hurts us and the people we care the most. And usually, we can't erase the damage. Before you say that thing which you'd regret or do something which you will hate yourself for, pause, catch your breath, breathe out and think if it's necessary and what good or harm it would do.

I often get asked about where to store shoes. As we need them often, putting them away in the storeroom is not practical. It's best to put where we can reach them easily. Having said this, this would mean we should place it at the entrance of the house, which incidentally is one of the most important areas in the house where feng shui is concerned. It's also where we are supposed to keep clean - and shoes are hardly clean! The only way around this is to get a cabinet with doors for your shoes, keep your shoes clean, and throw or give away the ones you haven’t worn in a while. If you air your cabinet often and keep it clean and neat, it’s ok to have it near the main entrance.

The no. 8 White star is located in the southeast this year, giving an added boost to the career and wealth prospects of those with their front door in this sector. Having said this, even if your front door is not located here you can still try to benefit from this star. Try to spend more time in the southeast of your home and boost the star by placing a fan or clock here.

While it's good to indulge in cardiovascular and weightbearing exercises (in fact the Health promotion board recommends doing them about three times a week), you must also balance your work with restorative and gentle exercises like yoga or tai chi. If you find yourself running into many health issues this year, first check if you are spending too much time in the West sector of your home. The Two Black flying star that is in the West sector during the year of the Earth Dog is linked to making people more susceptible to illness, especially if you are of a weak constitution. You may place things made of a metal element here to counteract its effects.

A lot of people think colours are a sufficient representation for feng shui elements. For example, they may put a lot of blue things in a room that they feel lacks water. However, in classical fengshui, elements like water should be represented by an actual body of water. Blue objects or even blue walls do not make up for the water element. Having said this, water is a complicated subject in feng shui. You need to study the internal layout of the house and study the flow of energy. If in doubt, I would advise you not to place an aquarium - its positioning has to be precise. It's best to leave this to the feng shui experts.

Don't spite yourself just because someone has a problem. You cannot control someone's actions but you can control how you respond to it.

Avoid choosing a unit in a building that is a lot shorter than its neighbours. Such a building is likely to have weak and suppressed energy. Apply this rule to looking for a place to live in, and also an office space.

Apologies for missing a post yesterday, i had some technical difficulties. I hope everyone's week is winding down nicely. Those of you living in a home with a long corridor may want to place a runner carpet or some small green plants along the corridor to slow down the rush of qi, as the energy that collects at the end of a long corridor tends to be strong and direct which is not ideal. We want good energy flow, not sharp or fast-moving.

View Post Wednesday June 20th, 2018 Have you heard of the Resistance Method? I came across this concept recently and you and found it interesting. As I often espouse, having positive thoughts helps to create positive vibrations that will pave the way for positive things like opportunities and good people into your life. However, very often, we can't help having nagging feelings like worries or just common senses about the odds we are working against, from creeping into our mind. These thoughts resist the flow of good energy and things into our life. The Resistance Release method teaches us to let go of these negative thoughts and align them with the things we wish for. https://youtu.be/h_YK7ix_TJ4

Some people focus too much on the kua number when house hunting. They try to find a property that matches everyone in the family - which would be almost impossible s everyone in the family would have a different birth kua. Instead of looking for a house with such a kua number, you should look for is a house with favourable house destiny - zhai ming. A house's zhai ming can only be determined accurately using a lou pan, a chinese magnetic compass. Checking a house's sitting and facing directions using a lou pan is not easy. Even a few degree difference can make a difference in assessing a house's zhai ming. I would advise that you engage the services of a professional geomancer for this purpose.

Many people like to keep clothes hanging behind their doors. Surprise! Surprise! They usually forget most of the things they keep there, except for the items hanging on top of the rest. Thus, stale energy tends to collect behind the door, and the energy in the house cannot move freely. This will affect the house's feng shui and create obstacles for its residents. Clear the clutter behind doors. Try not to hang anything behind them.

Everyone has dreams and aspirations but success eludes most of us. Sometimes the main difference is about discipline. Discipline to stick to your plans, to push through and to resist temptations. Do you have discipline? Start training it. Discipline is like a muscle. It may be weak at first, but if you keep training it, it will get stronger.

Even though you must have one room in the house for your knick knacks and things that you don't need often, it doesn't mean you can allow your store-room to become cluttered and untidy. Because it's not used and aired often, it is also where the most stagnant energy collects. Organise the contents properly, air the room is frequently and keep it free of cobwebs and dead pests.

One of the most important concepts in feng shui is the "bright hall". This means that the area outside your main door must be bright, clean and have no obstructions, while the immediate area in the house outside stepping through the main door, should be unobstructed and clean. This means energy will flow unobstructed into the house, and opportunities will also come more easily to the residents of the house.

If you feel that you have not progressed much in life and this disturbs you, first question if you are doing the right things to further yourself. Many of us actually waste time and energy on things that do not benefit us or our cause. And these may include thinking about what other people think, and expending energy and effort into impressing others. Or you could simply be checking your IG every 30 mins to see if you have got new likes. Do these distractions bring you closer to your goals? Do they make you a better person? If you find the answer is no, then think about how much time you have wasted doing these things. If you want to fulfil your potential in life and to achieve your goals, you need to invest your time wisely. Invest in yourself. Invest in doing things that improve you. :) Have a great day!

If you are looking for an apartment in a heavily built up area, you should be mindful of looking at one in a building that is in the midst of traffic from different directions. This means that the building is facing conflicting energy. If there are no other options, try to find a unit on a high floor.

Happy Friday! I always feel so positive about the weekend that I take it as an opportunity to brighten up the home by adding touches that make me happy. One of them is buying fresh plants for the home and doing some light gardening. Some people may be concerned about placing plants in the bedroom as they feel the carbon dioxide that plants give off at night is not good for us. Worry not - the effect is not harmful - your partner or pet definitely produces more carbon dioxide! Just make sure your bedroom is not overwhelmed by plants as too much yang energy will disrupt your sleep quality. Here's an article on why it's ok to sleep with plants - they have some qualities, like removing pollutants from the environment etc., and what kind of plants are suitable for the bedroom. https://www.urbanjunglebloggers.com/sleep ing-with-plants/

I often get asked about whether buying and placing a particular feng shui ornament will improve feng shui and therefore luck. Despite what I advise, many people still go ahead to buy the ornaments (sometimes spending a lot of money to do so). Aside from the fact that these ornaments don't do much, most of these people also fail to realise and address a major issue in most of their homes – clutter. Having heaps of unwanted, unused things that get in the way cause energy blockages in the house. As long as you have heaps of clutter at home, your path as well as the passage of good things like opportunities into your life will be obstructed.

Good morning, everyone. I hope you had a good weekend. if you want to achieve big goals, you have to work towards them. Do not procrastinate; just do it. And success will come your way. All the best!

View Post Thursday May 24th, 2018 I sometimes get questions on how one can enhance feng shui in the bathroom. I'd tell these people not to worry so much about this. The most important thing to know in bathroom feng shui is to keep it clean and clutter-free. Bathroom clutter like toiletries tends to turn grimy very quickly because of moisture. Stale energy also collects around products that people keep but don't use frequently. All these create a downwardpuling energy. For better feng shui, do an audit of your bathroom products and a major clean-up.

In case you are having the mid-week blues or feeling disheartened by the journey to get to where you want in life, do know that there are lots of tears, sweat and suffering behind most success stories. Instead of envying others for where they are, know that what got them so far is their grit and determination. Stay focused and keep persevering.

Having enough space is an issue for home buyers in Singapore. To maximise space, they often look at bunk beds for their guests or children. Moreover, many are beautifully designed these days. Having said this, some designs may not be good for feng shui as they obstruct energy flow or allow stale energy to gather. Avoid getting double decker beds as the space overhead for both lower and upper deck occupants is compromised, impeding the flow of energy. If you really need to, get pull out beds.

Vertical beams over a bed are considered taboo in feng shui because they suppress energy of the room. But horizontal beams are also not desired. They affect the health of the people sleeping under them, by creating a downward energy on the different meridian points of the body they fall on.

I sometimes get asked about whether it's ok to have a large mirror in the bedroom. A lot of the reasons against having one are mainly to do with superstitions, rather than feng shui Your soul will not get trapped in the mirror. And neither does it mean a third party is likely to enter your marriage. Having said these, i would still not recommend placing a large mirror opposite your bed or between your bed and the toilet. Large, reflective surfaces like a mirror might catch some light from the street lights or the moon at night, affecting your sleep quality.

People often get unhappy when they can't make another person agree with them, or simply see their point which they feel is so obvious. But all of us are inherently different, and have different perspectives. This is what makes life exciting. If we let go of the need to be right and just accept this, we'd be so much happier. :)

Flushing your toilet represents a strong downward energy which is negative. Therefore, it's important to keep the toilet lid down when the toilet is not in use. While feng shui ornaments won't do much to improve the feng shui - and it's also not necessary to add boosts as you don't spend much time in the toilet, you may put a rock or a bowl of pebbles on the water cistern. The earth element will suppress the strong downward energy of water

Good morning, everyone! Our thoughts are very powerful. They give off vibrations that will attract other energies to you. For example, if you often think of negative outcomes and get depressed, your vibrations are low and tend to attract negative stuff which has low vibrations too. These include obstacles and ill-meaning people. It also means less opportunities will come your way. But if your thoughts focus on happy outcomes and other things that make you feel positive, you are more likely to encounter people who will lift you, opportunities and a clear path.

Besides taking care of the balance of energy flow in your house, you must also take care of the energy flow within your body. Think about doing some yin exercises like yoga, qigong or tai chi this weekend to put your body into a restorative state so that your internal chi gets moving gently and smoothly. Have a balanced weekend.

Another question i often get from people who are trying to practise DIY feng shui is if colours affect the feng shui of a house. They could have read that red symbolises fire and passion, while green symbolises wood and therefore growth and money. They sometimes want to decorate an entire sector in green when they find that the wealth flying star sits there. However, this is not classical feng shui at all. Classical feng shui is not about colours. It is the study of the land formation of your property, your apartment, positioning of rooms, the flow of energy, and how to apply your personal birth particulars to harness the flow in a particular year

DIY feng shui has become very popular. With so many books on the subject, many people can easily pick up on concepts like yin and yang energy, energy flow and even the calculation of kua number. However, the actual application of feng shui is not so straightforward, there are concepts and principles that precede others and need to be given priority. For example, some people who have learnt about kua numbers get themselves into a pickle when they try to apply the concept while house hunting. They try very hard to find a property that seems compatible with ALL the would-be residents. This would be an almost impossible feat as everyone in the family would have a different birth kua. So the first thing you should look for is a house with favourable house destiny - zhai ming. A house's zhai ming can only be determined accurately using a lou pan, a chinese magnetic compass. When checking a house's sitting and facing directions, even a few degree difference can make a difference in assessing a house's zhai ming. Would you attempt to read this yourself or entrust a feng shui professional with it?

The keys to happiness are actually very simple. One of them is simply to let go of things that don't serve you. We just have to let go of some situations - situations which we know we have tried our best to change, people who just keep letting us down over and over again because of who they are, or events that are not irreversible. Cut yourself free, brace yourself for a new chapter and embrace the new future.

If spending personal time in a beautifully decorated bathroom makes you happy, by all means spend time and money doing up the bathroom. But if your objective is to improve the feng shui of your bathroom, you may be wasting your efforts. Some people even buy and place expensive feng shui artefacts in the bathroom. From a feng shui perspective, the decor of you bathroom doesn't affect its feng shui or you at all. The main places at home where you must pay attention to feng shui are the main entrance ,the bedroom and the kitchen. You just have to do the minimum to your bathroom to keep the feng shui in an acceptable state and the flow of energy good - keep it clean and clutter-free.

A few years ago, manifestation as the ultimate law of attraction was an extremely popular concept. A lot of people believe it meant that being able to psych yourself into believing that something you want would really happen, or in fact has happened, could bring about the realisation of this desire. However, many gave up on this concept as they grew disillusioned when what they wished for, didn't happen. This is because they forgot one crucial thing. While you need to have a positive mindset to have success, you also need other things. You must also put in effort. If you keep telling yourself you'll get a promotion at work but do nothing to prove yourself, naturally you will not get it. In fact your confidence (while doing nothing) may actually work against you. So, believe then act on it with the knowledge that success will be yours! Have a great week ahead!

Have you noticed how taking a walk in a park or going for a hike in a forested area energises you? Many studies have proven the restorative power of spending time with nature. Touching a tree, breathing in fresh air and treating your senses to the colours, smells and sounds of flora and fauna will relax you, make you happier and even reduce your blood pressure. Even if you only spend 30 minutes with nature. Maybe I will see you at Botanic Gardens this weekend!

Since many of us spend a lot of time in an office, the feng shui at your workplace matters. There are a few important things you should take note of. I will just address one here for now: Sharp edges otherwise known as "poison arrows" in feng shui speak. A sharp angle pointing towards you may cut through the positive energy flow that may be around you. Try to place an object like a healthy plant or a small furniture between the sharp edge and you, or cover the edge with a soft fabric to "blunt it".

How often have you reacted to someone's perceived jibes in anger by saying something even more hurtful and regretted it immediately ? If you feel that way, it's because instinctively, you know you could cause irreparable damage that you don't actually really wish to. As much as you are offended by what this person has said, you are not ready to cut ties as well. You could also damage the opinion of other people around you. There's a moment when you can actually hold yourself back. The next time someone says something you find offensive, take a deep breath when you feel your blood rushing to your head and you feel like snapping. Breathe in and exhale deeply. It will calm you. Think about whether you should respond or just let it slide. Remember, the person may not mean what you think. And most of all, your reaction may trigger off a lasting, negative impact which you may not want.

Besides the fact that it's harder to feel grounded sleeping in a room that is odd shaped, there's also another practical reason. Flying stars change directions every year. In a year when negative flying stars visit your bedroom, their negative chi will be felt more acutely if your room is of an odd shape.

When it comes to picking a residence with good feng shui, the external feng shui i.e. feng shui surrounding the apartment block or the house should actually take priority over the internal feng shui. This is because energy flow comes from the natural environment. External land formations like hills, slopes and water sources which include even large drains will affect your house's feng shui. As analysing external feng shui is tricky, it's a task that is best left to a trained professional feng shui practitioner.

Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. Here's a new start to the week, and another chance to wipe the slate clean and start working on your goals. If you have been wandering aimlessly and hitting snags in your path, you may want to sit down and have a good think about how to achieve the things you want. Remember, very few people achieve success overnight. It's often a long process and a result of careful planning, accumulated efforts and many disappointments and lessons!

View Post Thursday April 12th, 2018 Just as you shouldn't sleep under exposed beams at home, you shouldn't sit under exposed beams while at work. Beams exert downward pressure on whoever is under them, exposing you to both physical ailments and mental stress. If this option is available to you, change your desk position.

Many of us tend to let what other people think of us affect our confidence and even beliefs about ourselves. This is pointless. We can never control or dictate how someone thinks of us. Instead of spending our time trying to change someone's opinion, why not commit ourselves and our energy on doing things for ourselves. If you want to be a better person, it's for you, not someone else.

Rectangles or squares stand for the earth element, which symbolises being grounded and having stability - which are what we want when we are at rest. For this reason, we should avoid using rooms that are irregular in shape. The flow of energy is is also not balanced in such room.

While i have often said that the placement of decorative items doesn't affect feng shui much, where you position large bodies of water, for example a water fountain or a large fish tank, will affect feng shui. Water energy can be harnessed to collect and gather the flow of positive chi, and is especially important when placed in areas like near the main door or even bedroom. Be very careful about practising DIY feng shui though - the wrong placement can actually produce adverse results to the windfalls and life advancements you are hoping for!

View Post Wednesday April 4th, 2018 Most of us have been hurt by others before. Usually the more important someone is to us, the deeper the hurt. Sometimes the pain caused is so bad, we find it hard to forgive the person. However, forgiving someone is really more about doing ourselves a favour. While i have said before that many feng shui curious serve mainly a decorative purpose and do very little to alter energy flow and feng shui, I'd caution care when placing crystals. Especially when you are placing a large crystal, a crystal geode or a collection of crystals. Crystals have a strong earth energy and cannot be placed just anywhere at home. If you would really like to have them around the house, consult a feng shui practitioner first (before one as some geodes can cost a lot).

Q1 is coming to an end. How far have you come in your 2018 goals? This weekend, take a moment to reflect on your progress. Take an honest look at what you have done, and not done, and ask yourself why. It's better to take stock of things now, then to let another year just pass you by. After all, you don't want to live a life full of regrets at not having done your best or fulfilling your potential. Have a great weekend!

When looking for a new family home, many people have the misconception that they would have to find an apartment or house that suits the kua number of every family member. This is almost impossible. The first priority in house hunting is actually to a house's destiny- zhai ming. It should be favourable, first and foremost. As a house's zhai ming can only be determined accurately using a lou pan, a chinese magnetic compass, I'd advise that you consult a professional feng shui practitioner as even a few degree difference can make a difference in the assessment of its zhai ming, when checking a house's sitting and facing directions,

It is very easy to get upset or offended by the thoughtless words of another. In fact, the comments sometimes made by some one else may make us think they have an axe to grind with us. However, very often, people are preoccupied with their own problems. Their circumstances influence their thoughts and concerns, and these affect the way they perceive your situation, and also their words to you. Always tell yourself that not everyone comes from a similar place, and you do not know where they are coming from. Detaching yourself from what others say to you, will lift a burden and allow you to focus better on things within your control.

View Post Tuesday March 27th, 2018 Most of us living in space-constrained Singapore don't have a large shoe cabinet like this in a walk-in wardrobe or even against a whole wall by itself. Most of us live in apartments that don't have the space for us to display our shoes so that we can decide at a glance which pair to wear. In fact, most of us probably end up placing our shoe cabinets next to the door for practical reasons as well. Having said this, many people who do so are actually uncomfortable with this positioning. Some clients who are of Cantonese origins are worried about placing the shoe cabinet near their main door as the word for shoes in Cantonese sounds similar to sighing. Sighing upon entering and exiting the house certainly doesn’t bode well! But we still need shoes and certainly, a place to store them too. My advice is not to worry so much about its location and superstitions. Buy a cabinet with doors for your shoes, keep them clean (remove excess dirt after each wear), and throw or give away shoes that haven't been worn for a while. Air the cabinet often so that the flow of energy is kept fresh.

If your front door is located in the southeast this year, you are indeed blessed. The Eight White Star would brig prosperity and career luck to you. However, as mentioned in an earlier post, even if your door is not located here, you could still boost the star and benefit from its presence. Besides yang objects like an electric fan or a TV set, you can also place a clock in the southeast to activate the star. You should also try to spend more time in this sector.

If you know someone who is always short of money, they are most likely staying in a very cluttered home. Clutter blocks energy flow and opportunities and will therefore also block the flow of money luck or moneymaking chances. So, one of the best advices you can actually give them is to start clearing clutter and clean up the house. This will also increase the vibrations in their house and aid the flow of money. And who knows, they may also find a stack of money they have shoved somewhere and forgotten.

Good morning, everyone. We are heading back to the daily grind again. And we need to apply effort again. Yup, we do. Though I am a feng shui practitioner and would recommend doing a feng shui analysis of your home to improve your situation, I would be honest that you need to put in effort as well. Feng shui may improve energy flow and bring some opportunities for you. But these improvements are limited if you are not ready and can't make use of them. Remember to be focused and put in effort! Have a great week ahead!

I have seen office desks cluttered with feng shui ornaments because people believe these would boost their career. I don't believe they work - a topic that belongs in another post. That aside, people often overlook the most simple and effective cure they could use - sitting in the right place. Find out your kua number and sit facing one of your better directions. You would still need to work hard and be nice to people though. Sitting facing a good direction just means half the battle won. :)

Many of us are not aware of this - that we are often very affected by what people have told us about us. Some of us spend a lot of energy and emotions getting upset by these opinions and even predictions, that they consume us and prevent us from doing better. Believe in yourself and stay firm so that no one can disturb your self beliefs and disrupt your journey. Block your ears, let these words slide off your back and stay focused. You'll prove them wrong when you stop caring and just be you.

If you do creative work from home, you may want to sit in the south sector of your home. The Four Green star that resides in the south this year also boosts creative pursuits. I personally like the idea of a stove on a kitchen island. It makes practical sense if your kitchen is spacious enough as it's easier to work around. However, it is not ideal to have the stove in the centre of the kitchen in feng shui terms. The stove must always be in stable position, i.e. against a wall. Because a kitchen represents the heart and hearth of the family, where you place a fire element is a sensitive issue. Having the stove in the middle of the kitchen means it is exposed to energies all round. This would affect the health of the family members.

This is your mid-week pick-me-up. Alright, some of the very serious amongst you may be taken back by the grim caption on the photo, but i hope everyone eventually sees the joke. The ECG of someone will only be flat if the person is no longer alive. The reality of life is that it is full of ups and downs. If you think about it, even if you feel that your life is full of downs, surely there have been some ups. It's just that very often we choose to dwell only on the downs. Whatever goes down must come up. Instead of moping, make the most of down moments to lay the foundation for executing your plans so that when the up moment comes instea, you will have a bigger harvest.

Those with a front door in the southwest sector this year are blessed with having a Power and Authority flying star aka the Six White in this direction. It boosts your luck in career and gaining respect, but make sure that the outside of your front door doesn't face sharp corners or a pylon, as these negative features will actually render the benefits of the Six White negative and may even adversely affect your health.

Besides beautifying a space, cut fresh flowers are also good for boosting energy flow in a space. Artificial flowers on the other hand just serve as decorative items. However, like fresh flowers, you must also take care of them to ensure they don't stagnate energy flow instead. Fresh flowers must be disposed of once they wither. Artificial flowers need to be dusted occasionally as they tend to attract dust.

The Two Black Star actually can bring about gains in investments. For instance, if your main door is located in the west (and it's impractical to move), I would suggest that you tap on this potential by keeping your door way bright and clear of obstructions. A bright hall needs to be maintained both inside and outside the house.

Many people like to buy the lucky bamboo plant for Chinese New Year because it symbolises good tidings. Do not forget to change the water for your lucky bamboo plant regularly and clean out the container or vase in case there are mosquito larvae. Some people tend to overlook or forget when they get busy with the CNY visits. Having been down with dengue fever before, I can tell you it's extremely unpleasant. I wish you all a healthy Earth Dog year!

View Post Tuesday February 13th, 2018 We've actually concluded the round up on 2018 flying stars. Though i have talked about the Three Jade flying star two weeks ago and mentioned that it is a quarrelsome star that is best avoided, I would like to add on to it this week. If your front door should be located here, it'd be silly to expect you to avoid it. Place a lamp by the door and turn it on a few hours a day to suppress this star. Avoid placing anything that symbolises strong water energy here. Also, be more sensitive in the way you speak or treat others. She told me that she had removed all of them because she thought they represent rubbish or clutter which might block energy flow, and thus affect feng shui. So whenever someone in the family wants to throw something away, they have to take it to the rubbish chute at the back of the kitchen. We must always balance practicality with our feng shui practice. It's alright to have a waste paper basket in every room as long as you empty it regularly and keep it clean.

Those of sensitive constitution should avoid spending too much time in the West in the year of the Earth Dog. The Two Black flying star that is in the West sector is notorious for aggravating health problems and making people more susceptible to illness. You may place things made of a metal element here to mitigate its effects. I would advise pregnant women and the elderly to avoid sleeping here, if possible.

This is simply because the owners are sometimes too overwhelmed to start clearing. They just don;t know where to start. It is very important to keep your bedroom clean and clutter-free because that's where you spend at least five hours a day/night, even if you don't sleep as much as you'd like. It's also where you rest, and clutter does have a subconscious effect on your rest. Most of all, clutter also impedes energy flow, so you don't have fresh energy around you and also might not get as many opportunities as you'd have if your room is clutter-free. Here's a good article on how to clear clutter in your room. https://www.thespruce.com/cutting-clutterin-your-bedroom-2647994

View Post Monday January 29th, 2018 Good morning, everyone. I hope you had a good weekend. There's always someone better than us, or have something better than us. This can be a car or even something less tangible like intelligence or even just things that people take for granted, like a happy home. The bottomline is there will always be someone who seems to be in a better situation than us. If we allow ourselves to focus only on what we don't have or are not, we tend to depress our own energies. This negative attitude will therefore negatively impede the energy flow of things including positive opportunities by blocking their entry. This makes our quest for success even more difficult. Try being grateful for what you have in your life, then a lighter heart and more positive vibrations will follow. You will then notice how good things and people will also follow, coming into your life.

Double decker beds are often seen as a practical solution when you have more family members than you have bedrooms in your residence. You my want to consider pull-out beds instead as double deckers actually impede energy flow or allow stale energy to accumulate as the space above head for both lower and upper deck occupants is restricted, blocking the flow of energy.

One of the biggest reasons for disagreements is often a difference in perspective and therefore standards. Disagreements often lead to breakdown in communication and tension at work. Sometimes the negativity can even lead to disliking someone at a personal level. It's hard but it's important to remain professional even towards someone you can't agree with. Once you are able to check your thoughts and feelings, the way you treat someone will not come across as personal. Just remember that we all have different experiences and even KPIs, and these shape our thoughts, opinions and actions.

Externally, it means that the area outside the entrance to your home must be well-lit, preferably by natural light, clean and unobstructed. Many of us spend a lot of time and expend a lot of energy over what people say and what we think they think of us. Very often, their understanding may not be complete and therefore biased and when it's negative, it upsets us. However, likewise, we don't understand much about other people's lives and experiences as well. The point here is that very often people's perception of things is limited by the things that have happened or are happening in their own world. And this is something beyond our comprehension and control. And to be honest, most people don't care about you as much as you care about what they think. So we are really better off working on improving ourselves and for ourselves. When we are able to detach ourselves from what others think, we can then forge ahead to create better results for ourselves.

Our experiences are unique to us. And for some of us, our bad experiences may be very hard for us to forget and usually, even to forgive ourselves as many people are prone to blaming themselves (or even their bad luck) for failures and emotional injuries. Dwelling on the past has the effect of trapping us in the same circumstances and energies that caused the bad experiences, and so we tend to replay the same stuff over and over again. We need to develop a positive mindset, let go of the past and move on in order to welcome new and more positive experiences to our lives.

Good morning! How are you holding up in the new year so far? A lot of people think that meeting their objectives is just about focusing on the end result. Well, that's only a small part of the journey. To arrive at the results, you need to carry out many small actions on the way, and to keep doing them. Don't forget this! Get up, seize the day and own it! Have a great week ahead!

Does this photo remind you of what you turn into every weekend? Most people, especially parents actually find themselves busier on weekends than on week days. This is because they often cram too many things into it. They have to ferry the kids to their ECAs, do grocery shopping, catch up on work and even find time for sports and catching up with their friends. The weekend usually turns out to be a pressure cooker of activities, rather than a relaxation zone. Organise your time, and go to sleep as usual. I find that most people often sleep late on weekends, and by the time they wake up, they are in a sleep stupor and find it hard to be productive. Be organised, and don;t try to do too much. Enjoy every moment, dedicate yourself to each task and set your mind on just one thing at a time. Have a great weekend!

Avoid staying in a property that faces a large drain. In Singapore, this could translate into avoiding a HDB unit (since the majority of us live in them) that is facing a canal. Drains drain your finances more and also block opportunities. Having said this, it doesn't mean you should start looking for another place if you are already staying in such a unit. It's not all doom and gloom. The rest of the surrounding terrain and even your birth details could lessen the drain's impact.

If you have thought of carrying out renovation or home improvement work on the north sector of your home this year, try to postpone it. Where Five Yellow, the most ominous and vicious flying star is located, you'd want to avoid activating it. By drilling, knocking and making this area busy, you might bring about and also accelerate a series of unfortunate events on the residents of the house. To mitigate the detrimental events of the Five Yellow star, place items of the metal element such as copper or pewter ornaments in the area.

Industrial chic is the favoured look for many offices. This usually means raw feature walls and exposed ceiling beams. However, just like it's not ideal to sleep under exposed beams, you should avoid sitting under beams while working in the office as well. They exert a downward pressure, which would contribute to physical and mental stress. Try to look for another space in the office such that you are not sitting under beams.

Water is a very important element in feng shui. In fact, its importance has been so enhanced by popular culture that a lot of people think placing a large aquarium in their house would immediately boost their money luck or bring a huge lottery win. Yes, water can be harnessed to collect and boost the flow of chi but where you place your aquarium is even more important. However, what's really important here is not whether you have fresh flowers in your room or the colour you paint your walls. The position of the bed is the most important. Make sure your bed is against a solid wall, and not the window. This is to maintain yin and yang balance. If it's really impossible to do this, for example, for people with ceiling to floor windows for more than one wall, invest in thick curtains and keep them drawn at night. Someone recently asked me about the impact of using Tibetan singing bowls on feng shui. I'm not able to comment on the religious symbolism behind these bowls, but generally speaking, I am of the opinion that objects themselves don't do much for feng shui. However, the sounds that an object makes is a different issue. Therefore, the sounds that a tibetan singing bowl makes can affect feng shui. Why is this so? This is because sound creates energy flows. When sound vibrations travel through a medium, they create waves which are a form of energy, and therefore, can affect the flow of energy in your space. Thus, you can use sound energy to get stagnant energy in a quiet corner flowing. While using items like wind chimes or tibetan singing bowls to create soothing sounds, you need to be mindful that you are not doing so in a corner that is afflicted with a negative flying star (which I have covered before) ,as you could be activating the star.

Clothes and other clothing accessories hung from racks behind doors - a blind spot for most people when clearing clutter for better energy flow. I sometimes miss it as well. :) This is because when I go to people's houses, their doors are usually open for me for better access and analysis. Many people also tend to forget about the stuff they have hiding behind their doors because their bedroom doors are usually open till they go to bed. Another reason is that they have gotten so used to the stuff behind their doors, they don't remember though the purpose of putting things there in the first place for some people is to allow easy access to some clothes! Thus, there is stale energy collecting behind the door, and the energy in the house cannot move freely. This will affect the house's feng shui and create obstacles for its residents. Clear the clutter behind doors. In fact, I'd advise not placing items behind doors at all.

Once in a while, I'd put up a post about the benefits of having plants in our environment. These claims are not made without scientific backing. Well, i think this is impossible, Keeping the house clutter-free is already difficult! Imagine if we don't have a room to put all the bulky things we don't use on a regular basis. Having said this, we must still do our best to keep the storeroom neat and organised as being the least used room, it is also where the most stagnant energy collects. Make sure the contents are organised properly and packed neatly. Air the room frequently and make sure it is free of cobwebs and dead pests.

To the Chinese, water symbolises prosperity and good fortune. I have known many people who think that they could bring prosperity into their home and lives, simply by placing an aquarium with fish in a corner of their house. There are even those who think they could replace the aquarium with a painting, thinking it symbolises water. However, symbols are not effective. In classical fengshui, elements like water should be represented by an actual body of water. However, water is a complicated subject in feng shui. You need to study the internal layout of the house and study the flow of energy. If in doubt, I would advise you not to place an aquarium. Water is a powerful element. Hence, its placement needs to be precise. If you really would like to have one, I'd advise that you consult a feng shui professional.

Some people's idea of clearing clutter is to round up all the bits and bobs they don't need immediately and dump them in a drawer or a box in case they need them later. However, the existence of these items is still lurking in a corner of your mind even if you have put them out of sight. You may not remember the exact items you have tucked away somewhere but your subconscious remembers them. This creates blockages - both mental and physical. You need to keep the energy moving gently and freely even in drawers and cupboards to keep the wheels moving in your life. The best way to prevent such a build up is to make a decision immediately whenever you are clearing stuff. Ask yourself: Have i required this at all in the last 12 months? If the answer is no, get rid of the item in question. When you do need it, you might not even remember you have it or, remember where you have placed it.

View Post Tuesday November 7th, 2017 There are so many feng shui misconceptions floating around that I could fill a book with them. And sometimes people get hung up on a particular concept and see it as the answer to all their problems. For example, there are people who think fixing the main door will fix all their issues. They even get a contractor to adjust their front door such that it faces away from a feature that is deemed as detrimental to feng shui. Usually, what they end up with is a weirdly angled front door that screams "feng shui cure" to visitors or even potential buyers. Feng shui analysis involves looking at many factors including external features and layout surrounding the property itself. If you were to get a property with sound external features (and internal ones), you won't have to make extreme adjustments that may even make comfortable living impractical.

While there's no need to place feng shui curios and ornaments to improve your bathroom feng shui - they don't really do much to nullify feng shui ills or boost feng shui, placing a bowl of pebbles on the water cistern will curb the strong downward energy of water as it represent earth energy (which can curb water).

During my years of practice, i have come across so many people with different reasons for wanting to apply feng shui in their lives. Not everyone seeks financial prosperity. Some people want a child, while some want to win back a lost love. Some of the latter confide in me about their personal issues. Some times it's clear to them t hat they should let go as the other person is just not right for them, but they still have a glimmer of hope that feng shui could turn their situation around. Feng shui cannot change a person's innate personality. It may however, bring about opportunities in your life for you to meet someone special or simply have more friends who can keep you occupied and make you feel cherished. However, in order for these to come into your life, you need to let go of these past attachments so that there will be room in your life to welcome new things.

There are some people who have specific goals when they seek to improve their home's feng shui. A windfall is the most common objective - and sometimes these people are disappointed when they don't get the kind of money luck they were hoping for. While a good application of feng shui knowledge may boost the opportunities you receive in your life, remove obstacles and improve your relationships and health etc., it doesn't change your life overnight for sure. Whether you have success - i.e. able to turn opportunities into success, also depends on many other factors - your ba zi, your attitude and the way you treat others i.e. how you work on your relationships with other people whom you directly or indirectly depend on. Feng shui may create positive circumstances in which your life may improve, but it's not magic.

Good morning, everyone. I hope you had a restful weekend. I sometimes dread Mondays myself, especially when I have a huge backlog. However, since there's no escaping it, let's try to stay positive and not let it get the better of us. Half the battle is won with the right attitude. Feeling positive about your abilities to tackle the week's tasks and forging ahead with your goals will give you the energy and focus to do so! Let's start the week with a positive mindset!

We need to constantly remind ourselves to connect with nature. Tress and other plants emit positive, gentle energy that refresh our mind and also improve our energy flow. I often feel so mentally and emotionally cleansed after such a walk, that i actually go back to my work with a fresher mind and become more productive. If you can't find time to connect with nature during the week, try to set aside some time this weekend. I wish you a restful weekend.

As a feng shui practitioner, I often get questions that reflect the misconceptions people have of feng shui. One is about the impact of colours on feng shui. A lot of people think colours play a big part in feng shui because they have been told that colours symbolise elements. For example, red symbolises fire while blue symbolises water. The truth is like ornaments, colours don't really affect feng shui. While colours have different wavelengths which can affect our mood and therefore outcomes; they don't do much to change energy flow which is essentially what feng shui is about. Yet, at the same time, energy flow is just a large part of the feng shui puzzle. The terrain outside your property and the layout of your home are very important too. In other words, don't get too hung up on colours and their symbolism in feng shui.

Do you have a hundred and one things running through your head at any one time? Mental clutter can bog us down as much as physical clutter. Mental clutter slows you down and gets in the way if your productivity. Sometimes we even get so overwhelmed by the long list of things we need to do that we procrastinate getting started. Write down the priorities in your life and work your to-dos according to the list. It's not possible to try to complete everything. Just stick with the most important. You'll actually do more when you do less. :)

View Post Tuesday October 24th, 2017 In Singapore, conservation shophouses in historical areas like Emerald Hill, Neil Street and Joo Chiat are very popular amongst businesses as the history and architecture add a romantic touch. Despite the high rental fees, I have received quite a lot of requests to view shophouses as potential business or office spaces. I would generally advise against picking one of these. There's a fundamental flaw in the layout which would be challenging for your business to do well, and even feng shui cures might not help much. These shophouses tend to run very long and deep internally. In other words, if you were to draw a line from the main entrance to the back door, you would find the passage deep and long. This means that the yang energy that dominates the entrance may not travel so well to the back door which is dominated by yin energy. This disconnect in energy doesn't bode for business prospects or the health of your staff.

You are empowered!

The living room is the main place where the family tends to gather and guests are received. Therefore it's important to ensure that the flow of energy here is smooth and unfettered. Make sure there's no clutter blocking passage and movement. Try to put the sofa against a wall as it would represent that the family members who sit here would feel well supported.

I once read that worrying excessively about an event that might not take place is like holding an umbrella over your head all day expecting it to rain. The umbrella becomes a burden and also impedes you from moving around freely. Your worries bog you down and impede energy flow around you. Don't waste your time and energy on events that might not happen. Most of all, you have already pretty much survived most of your worries. Deal with them when they do come. In the meantime, let's make use of the present! Carpe diem!

View Post Tuesday October 17th, 2017 Someone asked me this question the other day. "If you doubt that feng shui curios i.e. inanimate objects can affect feng shui, why do you keep telling people to clear their clutter?" Clutter is not the odd decorative item. Clutter is a heap of things, often odds and ends. Clutter is often found lying on the floor where people have to skirt around, or on the sofa where people can't even find space to sit. Not only does it affect the quality of your family life in little ways, it also blocks energy flow. And feng shui is very much about harmonious energy flow.

Here's another application for your kua number knowledge. Besides knowing which direction to sleep (i.e. your head pointing in the particular direction), you can also use it to sit facing direction that's best for you. By doing so, you have half the battle won - no need to put feng shui curios on your desk. Those don't really work much.

Clutter has an insidious way of accumulating and once they have made their way into your house, it's so hard to get rid of them! Paper clutter is one of the easiest clutter to snowball in the house. So here's a tip on not letting it grow in your home. Make it a habit to go through your mail even before entering the house. Throw away all junk mail and flyers.

This is an oldie but a goldie when it comes to feng shui questions as I get this a lot. Especially following a post re kua numbers which my dear friends always find useful to know. "What should I do if my toilet is in best direction? First of all, you need not worry. Just because your toilet is sitting in your "sheng qi" direction doesn't mean all your ambitions and good luck are flushed down the toilet bowl. You don't spend a lot of time in the toilet. Secondly, there are other good directions for you to tap into.

Good morning, everyone! If success is so easily attainable, everyone would be successful. :) Whatever you are facing today, i wish you plenty of grit and determination to get through it! All the best!

While we are still in the year of the Fire Rooster, you could consider tapping into the The Purple Nine Star, the second most powerful wealth star after the Eight star, which looks after your wealth from longterm investments, business or your job. Networking will also bring about more benefits to you. In the Year of the Fire Rooster, the Purple Nine Star sits in the southeast in Either spend more time in this sector or strengthen the Purple Night Star by placing potted green plants here.

Many successful people actually make a list of to-dos every day. In order not to get overwhelmed by the things we need to get through each day and the things we need to do to bring us closer to our goals, we need a to-do list. Do not get too fixated on the large picture. Set that in mind, but recognise there are smaller things you need to do every day (accumulative effect) to get to your destination. I have visited some homes where the house owners have really put in considerable effort to make the bathrooms look more prosperous. Some even put feng shui artefacts in the toilet. By all means, decorate your bathroom as some people consider their time in the bath as a personal retreat. So whether your bathroom looks relaxing matters. However, from a feng shui perspective, your bathroom décor doesn’t change feng shui. We don’t really spend that much time in the toilet. The most important feng shui places at home are the bedroom, main entrance and kitchen.

Many people live in hatred and negativity because they refuse to forgive and forget a past hurt. Some of these people may feel that because of depth of pain caused to them, they cannot forgive the person responsible. By doing so, they would be letting the person off easily. However, when you forgive someone, the person you are really setting free is yourself. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself. And reclaim freedom and lightness of heart today.

View PostTuesday September 26th, 2017 I recently visited the newly bought house of a client who is thinking of getting a four poster bed. But she is worried that the frame might affect energy flow and hence negatively impact the feng shui of the room. Actually, a four poster bed's frame doesn't affect energy flow at all. Neither does the colour or material of the bed frame. The most important things to keep in mind for bedroom feng shui is the location the room is in, and the direction your head faces.

“Bright hall is a very important concept in feng shui. It refers to having a spacious, brightly lit area. In the day, this light source should be natural. This concept applies to both the area outside your main door and what lies in your house behind the door. Keep your "bright hall" clutter-free, neat and clean so that the flow of energy is unfettered.

I like how an act of kindness often creates a ripple effect and results in many other acts of kindness, i.e a domino effect. Have you noticed how helping someone usually puts a smile on your own face as well as the other person's? And it always put both doer and beneficiary in a good mood, and inspires them to pass on the kindness. Spread kindness.

As I am writing this, I am actually preparing notes on the Flying Stars for 2018. But since the year is not over yet, you can still apply 2017 boosts and cure to make the best of the remaining months. The wealth star resides in the east sector of the house in the year of the Fire Rooster. To activate this star, I'd you may place a fan. Turn it on for a few hours a day. Do remember that the "po sui" star is also in the east this year. So try to avoid drilling or carrying out renovation works in the east.

I mentioned last week that I would refresh kua number calculations so that you would know your kua number. It's important to know your personal kua number so that you could tap into your favourable directions and avoid the unfavourable ones. Here’s the formula: Females born before 19:57hr 4 feb 2000: Add the last two digits of your birth year, for example, 1971, you add 7 + 1 = 8 Then Add 5 Females born after 19:57hr 4 feb 2000: Add the last two digits of your birth year for example, 2011, you add 1 + 1 = 2 Then Add 6 Males born before 19:57hr 4 feb 2000: Add the last two digits of your birth year, for example, 1971, you add 7 + 1 = 8 Then subtract the number from 10 Males born after 19:57hr 4 feb 2000: Add the last two digits of your birth year, for example, 2011, you add 1 + 1 = 2 Then subtract the number from 9 FOR BOTH MALES AND FEMALES, if the final result is a double digit number, for example: 15; split up the digits and add them together till you get a single number. In this case, your kua number will be a 6. *SPECIAL NOTE: Men with a Kua Number of 5, actual kua number is 2 Women with a Kua number of 5, your actual kua number is 8

For my friends who need a mid-week pickme-up. Stay positive and stay in the light!

If you have a say about your office space, aim for a "command position" when it comes to setting up your work space. If you are just setting up an office at home where you spend a lot of time working, you should also try to set up a command position. The number one rule of a command position is that your back should not be facing a door. This symbolises that you will not find the support or backing you need for work. You could also miss out on opportunities which could be knocking at your door since you can't see them. Lastly, having your back to the door also makes you feel vulnerable, whether or not you are acutely aware of it. You should always aim to work in an environment where you feel secure and protected.

Some people become so used to living with clutter that they don't realise the effect it has on them. Clutter definitely affects us more than we realised. And it's not just the flow of energy i.e. feng shui, that is compromised. Neuroscientists at Princeton University have found that clutter overloads your senses, makes you feel stressed and obstructs your ability to process information. If you feel that you are always procrastinating and never able to progress in your endeavours, the answer may be your messy environment. If tackling a huge amount of clutter may feel too much to handle right now, start small. Set aside a small amount of time for clearing the floor of things. You might feel so much more energised, you could then go on to clear the rest of the room.

View Post Tuesday September 5th, 2017 Most people would want to sleep with their head facing their best direction (sheng qi) but this is not practical if the layout of your bedroom doesn't permit. If this is the case, you could tap into another direction that offers a feng shui benefit as well. After all, all of us have four favourable fengshui directions to tap into. (please refer to your personal kua number). I have touched on kua number calculation before but will refresh next week,- so please look out for the post. So, if sleeping with your head pointing to your sheng qi direction is not possible, you could tap into another good direction, for example your tien yin (heavenly doctor) direction, especially if it's good health you want.

As an apartment hunter, there are many things to consider regarding feng shui. One of them is the location of your kitchen. You must make sure the location of the kitchen is in a sector unfavourable to the HOUSE GUA. While your kitchen should be located in an unfavourable section, the kitchen stove must be facing one of the owner's favourable gua directions. Feng shui is quite an intricate art, and very confusing for the layman. If in doubt, consider seeking professional advice.

Giving up on things can become a habit, a vicious cycle. The same feelings of disappointment and self doubt wash over you every time, crippling you further each time. If success is ever so easy, there will be only success stories around us. Some dreams are harder to achieve than others. It may take a long time to see results. Hang in there. Have you ever climbed a slope or a flight of stairs at a popular destination where the only way to go is up if you don't want to crash into a bunch of people coming up? No matter how tired you may be, you don't question yourself if you can do it. When you know you have no option but to continue, you can do it. Just do it.

An entrance should be clearly seen and visible to all approaching the building. If a building has a hidden entrance or too many small entrances, it means the flow of energy is of a poor quality because the building lacks a clear "mouth" for the energy to enter. As exterior feng shui is even more important than internal feng shui, avoid staying or getting an office unit in such a building.

Be careful about placing large crystal clusters or geodes in the house. Even if you have not bought them with the intention of enhancing feng shui, they might still affect it. This is because crystals represent the earth element which might suppress or clash with certain elements if you place it in the wrong direction. Besides, you also need to consider the location of certain flying stars when placing an item that is a powerful source of energy. If you really must have a certain crystal displayed in your house, consider seeking professional feng shui advice to make sure the placement is ok.

Having a breakthrough in your quest for success requires more than just hard work and a dogged determination. In fact, the latter may often be a stumbling block as you work with blinders on and not realise that the problem may lie with your methods or current modus operandi. Take an honest look at how you have been doing things, seek opinions, take criticism constructively and be willing to change.

In Singapore where living spaces tend to be rather small and cramped, finding enough storage space to put our things out of sight is often an issue. As such many people choose beds with drawers underneath. I wouldn't say these beds are ideal for feng shui as the drawers block the flow of energy going around the bed. However, they don't drastically alter feng shui as well, provided you keep the drawers neat and free of unused clutter. Sort out the things in there regularly. Don't let it become a hiding place for things you will never use again as stale energy tends to collect in these places.

If you use the excuse it's too late for you to get started on things that you have always wanted to do or achieve, you'd get into the habit of using that excuse ,and eventually it will really be too late. Usually when we look back at the past, we realise that we could have achieved something or done better. Avoid getting into this trap by living a purpose-driven life. Otherwise you may end up living a life of regret. Set goals, write down how you could achieve them. Think about what you need to take. There's a chinese saying that you won't get to heaven in a single step. This means you won't fulfil a big dream with just one effort. Take small steps. Write down the things you need to do on a daily basis to bring you to your goal. Good luck with sticking to your plan!

View Post Friday August 18th, 2017 Feeling like a victim can become selfperpetuating. I don't make light of the matter when someone tells me bad things keep appening to them even though they have worked hard to prevent them. I believe someone when they tell me that they seem to be caught in a cycle of bad luck where everything and everyone seems against them. This could be true, and not because they have imagined it or asked for it, as some people might tell them. However, getting such negative thoughts stuck in your head can actually bring you down even further. When a person has things going against them too often, they often start selfvictimising. This creates a lot of negative energy which often attracts more negativity and also results in manifestation, creating the reality of you being a victim. If you get trapped in such a cycle, you become your own victim and again. You need to make a real effort to break free from this mentality, no matter how difficult it is, and even more so when things are not going well.
