ARE YOU “OFFENDING TAI SUI” Your birth year determines your Chinese Astrological animal sign. As the cycle of the Chinese Astrological animal system comes every twelfth year, naturally your animal sign will appear every twelve years at the age of 12, 24, 36 and so on. When is your Astrological Year? A common mistake is to calculate the first day of the Lunar New Year (for year 2018 it is on the 16th February) as the start of the traditional astrological year to determine Chinese Astrological signs because in reality, your Chinese Astrology year begins on the first day of Spring (Li Chun立春) which lies approximately on the fourth of February. Therefore, the Dog year of 2018 shall begin on the first day of Spring which is on the 4th February 2018 (the time of the first day of Spring is specifically 5.28am). The year of the Dog ends on the 4th of February 2019 (at the specific hour of 11.13am). *The date of each season is a rough guide. Please check the Ten Thousand Year Calendar for the exact dates for each year.
Tai Sui is a “star” within the Chinese astrological system that shifts position of 30 degrees every year. Tai Sui therefore orbits the Earth every 12 years. Tai Sui is always thought of as a “renegade star” as it is widely known to bring misfortune to those whose Horoscope Year matches their year of birth. Chinese Zodiac
