Metro Station: The site has a direct access from the Baiyappanahalli metro station. Baiyappanahalli metro station is the eastern terminal point on the east-west corridor of the Namma Metro in Bangalore The northern exit of the metro station leads to a skywalk that open directly onto the site.
Old Madras Road: The old Madras road in Bangalore is a major road connecting Bangalore to Chennai. With the dense population growth along the highway, the road experiences major traffic issue. Hence this road is the line defining the end of our neighbourhood.

Gokarna, Karnataka, India June 2016 - December 2016 Acadamic - Urban Design Group Work
Aim: To analyze, understand, infer and propose an architectural solution for the problems faced in the town. Objective: To Map the entire town as a group and come up with an individual architectural solution based on our inference.
Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka. The town is located on what was once a pure and pristine beach near the estuary of the river Aghanashini.
The town gains its popularity from the Mahabhaleshwar Temple. The town also houses several other sacred temples of importance, attracting several Hindu piligrims among the tourist population, as it is one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centers in India.
Due to the recent population influx, the town has seen a haphazard growth and a slow destruction of its pristine beauty. Increase in foreign populaiton of all kinds over the past few decades and very little governmental control has led the town to be notoriously known for its Narcotic tourism.

Shankaraa Cultural Sanctum Shankaraa, a greenscape, dotted with contemporary and timeless sculptures, is an open- hearted space that preserves, promotes and propagates art and craft in all its forms and facilitates cross cultural interaction, breathing life into the art forms of our rich heritage. At Shankaraa, our rich and traditional art forms, be it classical or folk, music or drama, visual art or utilitarian craft exist not as isolated individual traditions, but are intrinsically woven into the weft and the weave of spiritual tapestry.
Shreeshyla Centre for Arts Shreeshyla, Centre for arts at Shankaraa (Now Angala) used to be a small scale industrial production unit that encouraged fabric weaving and related artforms. The Centre has now moved to a larger space and the 25 year old structure was available for other pursuits. After feasibilty studies, the client decided on converting the structure into a multipurpose hall which would compliment the rest of the spaces in the same complex. The Multipurpose hall is designed as a stand alone structure, and can also compliment its neighbouring spaces like the large OAT, multifunction Auditorium and/or open rentable spaces.

Raft-Ikra A disaster responsive solution for the people of Assam **Awarded best design solution by Archade Foundation
Location Hypothetical, Assam Term: Jan 2016, ANC, Surat Type: Disaster Response Workshop Scope of work: Design, Model to scale, Present (Group of 6) Time frame: 72hrs
Aim: To deisgn a disaster responsive solution for the flood and earthquake prone areas Objective: To arrive at a shelter design and building strategy for a region with disaster vulnerabilities and extreme climatic conditions
Location
Disaster Assessment Earthquake
Assam geographically lies in earthquake zone 5 leaving it at an incredibly high risk of high-intensity earthquake aside from that.. the floods that occur almost yearly do a massive amount of damage to the existing structure. Existing response to these phenomena in the local typology manifest itself in the use of stilted consrteruction, or atleast a high plinth and the use of horizontal seismic bands
Floods
When it rains, the amount of water increases in the river and other water bodies The water level rises due to which a natural disaster called floods take place. Heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh causes the Brahmaputra river to overflow and flood the low lying areas these floods have been recorded to have an effect of around 80-100kms in width
Building Materials and Construction Types Bamboo for walls and thatch roofing for roofs is generally used and is locally available. Bamboo
Walls are of timber framework, inside those ikara panels are used to fill. Ikaras are cut in the shape of the panel and laid vertically, horizontal members are usually bamboo. After drying for a period of 3 days, it is plastered on both sides with mud and mortar. Finished coat of liquid mix of mud and cow dung is applied. Sloping roofs of hay or corrugated sheets are used to drain water.
Flexible strong , cheap andlocally available Takes sesmic loads well Good horizontal strength Less fatality during earthquakes Light weight Framework of the structure is done using bamboo Foundation The structure has been provided with a low and almost no foundation. The super structure rests on a bamboo frame system which acts as a support and runs along the periphery of the super structure.

Selected Projects | S.M. Adish
Ikara
Foundation
The entire structure is built out of bamboo. the foundation is designed to light, self supporting and porous. The entire super-structure rests on the foundation with no permanent joinery. In case of a flood, the superstructure can float up, hence adapting to the condition. To hold the superstructure from floating away, bamboo anchors are designed to hold them in place and allowing only vertical movement
