As the circular module rotates , an interesting wave pattern gets formed on its surface creating visual interactions

Process:-

The aim was to emphasize on inclusivity and interaction. The 9 circular modules with vividly vibrant threads are designed to incorporate the same. The installation attracts the audience from all around and brings them in a common space which we believe dissolves all lines of differences in that moment.

The circular modules renders a fun-filled, interactive experience and draw parallels with our country’s ever dynamic nature. We also believe that the true essence of our country is its diversity.

4) Bamboos and Bricks

Poladpur + Alibaug I Sustainable Design, Vernacular Design

Hands on workshops at Alibaug and Poladpur help me gain experience with bamboo and brick as a material. The team designed and executed a bamboo shack facing the beach, a pavilion for rest and learnt how to create a brick arch.

Process

The foundation for the pavilion was created by filling stone into the ground with mud and rammed untill it was stable, the pipe was used as a base for the bamboos.

Converging bamboos in the pipe foundation were fixed in place with help of a mixture of wet mud, stones and rubble available on site.

The dugout foundation was levelled with mud excavated from the site itself.

Thick binding wire was used to tie bamboo which had been slit into two halves to allow for maximum bendiblity. Binding wire was tied into place using pliers and hands.

Initial form was put into place by tying 2-4 slit bamboos in place and fixing them into the pipe foundations. Post the execution of the basic form, weaker bamboos were used to reinforce the pavilion.
