An Introduction to the IMAG

History & Science Center

The IMAG History & Science Center is a family-friendly destination featuring interactive exhibits, aquariums, activities, and history displays for all ages. Through the lenses of history and science, we help guests explore and understand the rich culture and habitat of Southwest Florida by focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM education) as well as history, humanities, and the arts. The IMAG features attractions including Science on a Sphere, an interactive exhibit illustrating the sciences of our Earth; Google Earth Wall allowing people to virtually climb the world’s tallest mountains, dive into the deepest canyons, visit exciting cities, learn about exotic animals, and more; and Shaping SWFL Watersheds, an interactive, augmented-reality sandbox generating live topographical maps and fluid dynamics in real time. Guests can feed a stingray in the SEA-to-SEE Touch Tank; touch a ball python during the daily IMAG LIVE! animal encounters; and visit the Living Lab to see frogs, turtles, snakes, a bearded dragon, and other exotic animals.
