EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’s UPDATE...

The contract for 2017-2018 is signed and Franklin County is officially on board for another great year as a Retire TN Community. It is a tremendous honor to be actually in the state of Tennessee booth at the Ideal Living EXPO’s marketing best places to retire in our great state. The Retire Tennessee annual meeting is scheduled for August 24th in Lenoir City. During this meeting the 23 Retire TN Communities will meet with the State Director Ramay Winchester and Commissioner of Tourism Kevin Triplett. The program has undergone a complete new branding and everyone is excited to learn what is in store for this fiscal year. Shows for this year are: Whippany, NJ, Long Island, NY, McLean, VA, Chicago, IL, Greenwich, CT , Parsippany, NJ, Philly, PA and McLean , VA. Every participant is required to participate in one show and we participate in two shows. Ramay Winchester, director of tourism initiatives has managed the Retire Tennessee program since its inception 12 years ago and has seen firsthand the effects of the program on each of its communities. Ramay Winchester commented, “Franklin County entered the program in 2012 and Judy has done a tremendous job of touting the resources and amenities in beautiful franklin County”. “The Success of this program is evidence of Tennessee’s remarkable quality of life. Our Retire Tennessee counties are the crown jewels in attracting new residents that bring even more vitality to our state, “Winchester said, “Active retirees relocating to these communities help stimulate the economy, while bringing their knowledge and time to actively invest in their new home.” Franklin County averages 700 leads monthly from the coop advertising with the Retire Tennessee program.

Thanks to your investments we currently work to keep up to date marketing materials for our county. The Franklin County Chamber Business Directory & Economic Development Guide is available at the Chamber office. This publication and a Franklin County Area Map are partnered together for retail prospects, industrial prospects, tourist, newcomers and markets every member for all requests. Your Chamber staff, responds to every request for tourism information within two days and a tourist packet is emailed and mailed directly to potential visitors as well as distributed locally. If you would like brochures for your location, drop by the Chamber and pick up a few to assist with distribution. The business guide is for newcomers, visitors prospects and most important shopping for products within the membership. Remember to always SHOP CHAMBER MEMBERS FIRST!
