These talented leaders and inspiring youth will spend the next six months going on exclusive tours and having hands-on experiences, all with area and state leaders who take on our community’s biggest challenges every day. Armed with new knowledge, connections and perspectives, Leadership Franklin County graduates are prepared to take their places as effective community leaders. Leadership Orientation, History and Education is the first session for 2018. On September 20th class members will arrive at the Chamber, meet their classmates and begin their journey at the SunRise Restaurant with a presentation on Leadership styles by the morning AM Rotary Club. Physician Spotlight Neurologist Joins Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester is excited to announce the addition of neurologist, Dr. Robert W. Gilbert to our ever-growing team of physicians called the Southern Tennessee Medical Group. Dr. Gilbert will be focused on the community’s need for expert neurological care as he leads the soon to be opened Southern Tennessee Neurology. “We are very fortunate to have someone of Dr. Gilbert’s expertise and experience joining our team,” said hospital CEO, Rob Followell. “Having a neurologist on staff and in the community elevates the level of care and the availability of health services in Franklin and surrounding counties. Dr. Gilbert is the first step of developing our neuroscience service line and we look forward to adding additional services soon.” Dr. Gilbert received his undergraduate degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson as well. He completed his internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Gilbert is Fellowship trained in stroke and clinical neurophysiology. He has the talent, the skill set, and the experience to make an immediate positive impact on the local medical community. Southern Tennessee Neurology will provide general neurology, electromyography and nerve conduction studies, vascular neurology, botulinum toxin therapy for migraine and spasticity. Dr. Gilbert specializes in the diagnosis of nerve injuries, nerve & muscle disorders, botulinum toxin injections, and stroke/vascular neurology. He treats neuropathies, epilepsy and seizures, stroke, concussion, migraine and headaches, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, memory loss and dementias, and multiple sclerosis.
