Shelley Point Conduct Rules

Treating the Security Personnel in an abusive manner is not acceptable.

The speed limit of 40kph must strictly be adhered to.

Only golf carts are allowed to be driven on the golf course.

No vehicles, motorbikes, bicycles or quad bikes are allowed on the dirt roads / walking trails. Please keep to the tarred roads.

No skipping of stop signs or the disobeying of any laws in terms of the Western Cape Road Traffic Ordinance

Children may only drive golf carts on the golf course and under adult supervision.

No unlicensed quad bikes are allowed.

Parking allowed in designated parking areas only. No on/off road parking or parking opposite traffic islands is allowed.

Parking and / or storing of trailers, boats, caravans, equipment, vehicle parts etc. in view from the street and / or the golf course not allowed.

No camping on private property and Private/Public Open Spaces.1

No swimming in the fountains.

No littering.

No fires are allowed in public places / outside a dwelling’s fireplace.

Illegal dumping by residents and / or visitors: no rubble or refuse may be dumped or discarded in any public area.

The hanging up of washing over the balustrades of verandahs and balconies is especially forbidden.2

Music and noise levels to be kept down to a level that is acceptable to all residents.

2 Dogs:

Visitors to Shelley Point are not allowed to bring dogs with them unless the home-owner he visits is in residence and the home-owner has made prior arrangements with Security to permit his visitor’s dog(s). The home-owner then accepts responsibility for such dog(s) at his premises.3 Home owner’s dogs must be kept on the owner's premises.

Home Owners must keep their dogs on a leash when out walking.

Only two dogs are allowed per premises unless otherwise authorized by the Municipality.

Occupation of properties:4 No owner or tenant shall accommodate or allow to be accommodated more than the maximum number of persons permitted to occupy such residence.

The maximum number is 2 (two) adults per bedroom.

Owners and letting agents are expected to exercise control over tenant numbers and excessive noise.

Commercial fishing boats:5 Commercial fishing boats are prohibited in Shelley Point. Penalty: Transgression of any of the above rules could lead to a fine of R5 000-00 (Five Thousand Rand) per transgression.6

THIS IS A CRAYFISH RESERVE. IT IS THEREFORE A CRIMINAL OFFENCE TO REMOVE ANY CRAYFISH.

Note: All properties in Shelley Point are privately owned. Trespassing on these properties is strictly prohibited.
