June 2013

Our Annual General Meeting is coming up next month. At that meeting new trustees will come on board and some will step down. We welcome people to come to the meeting, hear the chairperson present the annual report and review the work of the Radio Reading Service (RRS) over the past year. In line with the dynamic nature of broadcasting the RRS is always reviewing it’s programmes and making changes as required. We obtain copyright permission for all the publications from which we read. A recent inclusion is Tom Frewen’s ‘A Week in Parliament’ which we broadcast at 10pm on Tuesdays and repeat at 8am on Wednesdays. RRS Internet Radio Project. We have developed a method whereby stored podcasts of selected programmes are available to be downloaded from our website. Daily readings from the Dominion Post, selected articles from the NZ

Listener and ‘A Week in Parliament’ are now available to listen to on-line or upload for later listening.

Further development is an ‘App’ for smart phone and tablet devices to provide a quick and easy link to our station. A Facebook site has been created @Facebook.com radio reading.
