about me
I am a highly motivated design student focused on a career in commercial interior design. I fell in love with Interior & Architectural Design at a very young age, and from that time, I’ve dreamed about becoming a bold and interactive designer as my future profession. I am very intrigued by the possible opportunity to work in this field. I believe it will be a beneficial experience to complement my academic coursework with experience in a fast-paced environment, in professional design. As an Interior Design major at High Point University, I am passionate about creating original design concepts and working with a design team or individual that will help me broaden my interests and horizons in this field. A career in design starts with a good foundation. My plan is to build this foundation and grow both professionally and individually.

weekly sketch
hes
weekly sketches are given to a student each week to complete over the course of 7 days or so. The student is given an image of a space, residential, and must create that space using 2 point of 1 point perspective skills and finshing them with hand renderings. The space does not need to be identical to the image given, however the main objective is to reacreate the space to the best of your abiity and overall showcase space drawing abilities. this weekly sketch was gievn as a studio class period assingment. we were given the class time to use this perspective drawing and create our own. by using 2 point perspective skills and our hand rendering abilities.
this assignemnt was given to use to find a space of any kind that showcased an abundant amount of texture and differentiated materials throughout. using any color scheme and and type of space. I chose a living roo that had a varied number of materials and textures throughout. I enjoyed the simplicity and character the room brough and used that for this assignment.
lamp projec this project was completed in 2180 of fall 2018 semester as the final project for the class. the lamp project was craeted in the purpose of teaching each student how to create a lamp using simple techniques and the laser cutter and other resources. using imagination and ideation methods, the studnets were necouraged to create a unique lamp that offered innovative design techniques. from process work, precendent research, digital buildings and rendering techniques, the students were able to create a 3D model of the lamp for a completed project.
the original idea for the lamp was to create an inspired lamp from the art deco time period using precendets and ideas from the type of design. while looking more into it, it became a less original idea that myself and the tecaher throught it was too basic and something that had been done many times before. Using the geometric and industrailized feel of art deco, i created a multi layed lamp that would cast shadows such as the images above.

The client for this would be a young designer (28-35 years) that has grown up in the city and enjoys the industrial and modern growing bubble she lives in. Her grandfather is a successful skyscraper architect and she is inspired by their work he does everyday. She also enjoys the style of art deco with its repetitive patterns and anti traditional elegance. She needs to an accent lamp to be placed in her new apartment preferably in her living room.
