The central square
The town of Seur, Loire et Cher, wants to build individual social housing. This town has not a real center. The project involves the creation of a central square around the church and town hall by building front in order to close the area. The rest of the large plot of ÂŤOspiedÂť is transformed in a meadow and an orchard.
FROM THE TOWN TO THE RIVER MÊnars is a little town of 600 inhabitants, near Blois, Loir et Cher. This town is closed to the river Loire. But we can’t feel the link to the river because of a private estate castle located between the town and the river. Moreover a departemental road divides the town in two parts. The project aims to create a gentle circulation like a route from the town to the river which will serve all the strategic areas of the town. This route follows some alleyways, old agricol paths and cross the departmental road. The route is materialised by a similar floor covering all along the differents landscapes sequences : the center town, the cross of the departmental road, the housing development, the agricol path and finally the river.

the center of town is built along two parallel streets from both sides of a valley. The first sequence aims to indicate that a streamlet passed into the bottom of the valley. Today, this streamlet is buried. The project aims to reappear the storm water on the surface and to lead them to the bottom of the valley (1). Along the main alleyway, somes little canals with a system of overflow permit to signal the presence of water all along the year and to store the excess of water during storms.

This garden is a rite of passage leading from the real to the unreal, the conscious to the unconscious. During this course, the environment and the place of the visitor in this one change : the size ratio is reversed. More the visitor moves more the vegetation grows, the leaves become larger and darken. This path more and more narrow, leads in a room where the plants have extraordinary dimensions. Among them, the unreal colors of coleus. The visitor realizes that he is not in his usual state. Indeed, the coleus is known for its hallucinogenic properties ....

URBAN SQUARE / MICRO-ARCHITECTURE

This square is high perched on the top of a long starecaise. The square is composed of different starecaises playing on the groundlevel. Trees are planted very tightly. A structure is used to concentrate the look to the landscape of roofs of Blois. But it is used to host some musical events too. Behind this structure, a belvedere opens onto the Loire river valley. This structure by his strange form permits to signal the square from the bottom of the stairs.

THE DURIAN Durian is a fruit native to Southeast Asia. It is a big oval bay covered with a shell of big thorns. It is known for its special taste and strong odor so much that it is prohibited in public transport in many Asian countries. It is from a dried shell of one of these fruits that a model has been made. The will to transcribe the curves of this subject led to the realization of a gridshell (grid forced by rope). This grid is used to receive regularly arranged spines along its surface.
